Genuinely breaking me how Alex Pretti was such a soyboy that MAGA nutjobs like to make fun of. He hiked. He played music. He had a graduate degree and he was a male nurse. And he was more courageous and relentless than everyone of those assholes.

If he was from Salford, or even knew much about it or Manchester, he would know better than to say Salford and Manchester are interchangeable. This is just going to make it really obvious he doesn’t know the area to people here.

So basically we have a solid center left majority under PR, or a knife edge possibility of hard right government under FPTP. The country really can't afford the luxury of political parties' vanity when it comes to electoral pacts.

I mean things are bad but Gwangju was 1000-2000 plus dead, not 2, and drugged up paras were firing at anything that moved. If it gets to that stage we're in a very very different situation.
This was just me making this comparison yesterday, but today the Korean news is calling Minnesota "America's Gwangju" and have human rights lawyers explaining how America is now living through the dictatorship Korea once had.
The Chun regime that my wife fought against in the 80s did the exact same thing. They needed a "crisis" that "only they could solve" to hoard more ill-gotten power, so they chose one city (Gwangju), declared its inhabitants enemies, sent trucks full of soldiers to violently attack and kill them.
