It’s pretty simple.

When you do a huge armed midnight raid on an apartment building rounding up and terrorizing children and later find out there were no criminals there everyone involved resigns in shame and we have loud showy Congressional hearings.

Remember the recent middle-of-the-night apartment building raid where children were dragged outside naked & zip-tied in the street while black & Latino residents were _sorted by race_ and piled into separate vans while their apartments were ransacked & robbed? That raid? So it resulted in 0 arrests.

Remember those national guard troops sent to Chicago by Texas Gov Greg Abbott? They went home after sitting at a suburban training facility doing nothing for a month. Abbott's little stunt cost taxpayers at least $12M. What an abuse of power.

Major US cities are experiencing outbreaks of violence caused by armed gang members. These thugs are masked and dangerous. They attack and kidnap people off the streets and at their places of work. The group should be designated as a domestic terrorist organization. They call themselves ICE.

Library staffing literally decimated
I see people claiming the head tax is going to public libraries, but as far as we’ve been told- it isnt. The good news is, our lackluster book budget may be restored. The bad news? We’re still facing 89 positions cut. After 52 positions were cut last year. That’s 11% of our workforce!

Do you ever think about how the bus route that connects with the MD-W, UP-W, Green Line, Blue Line, and BNSF, and also is almost always a Top-5 Pace ridership route, ends in a random parking lot instead of the CTA rail terminal and international airport three miles away? Because I do, often
