Most Americans agree we need to get money out of politics. If that takes a constitutional amendment, then that's what we have to do. And if that's going to take years, then it's all the more reason to begin pushing now.

100% truth
And we knew this. This wasn't speculation. We studied it, we had the talking points. We trained volunteers to explain this to people. It's not a surprise. Rich people don't flee places with good quality of life when we increase the quality of life. They might try to cheat us, but they don't leave.
NEW: The first two years of Massachusetts' millionaire tax has raised $3 billion more than expected.

And rather than driving the rich away, IPS researchers found that the number of millionaires has *increased.*

I see the “technically it’s ephebophelia” crowd is out today, so just a reminder that A) this is NOT a case where technically correct is the best kind of correct and B) the minute you say this, the gods dump you in the “irredeemable creeper” basket and wash their hands thoroughly after touching you.

The one true generational marker I retain. I’m not sure I’ll ever get over it. (Or want to do so.)
Growing up in a time when “selling out” was the most shameful thing you could do and then being forced to live through the 2020s feels like being kicked in the head by a horse every day

I’m voting no on the continuing resolution that would double healthcare premiums for 20 million Americans, kick 15 million people off Medicaid & allow 50,000 Americans to die unnecessarily every year.

All to give $1 trillion in tax breaks for billionaires.

Australia's extensive solar power penetration makes so much energy that the government wants to offer free electricity at peak hours.

For years, but especially for the past year, Democrats have been in thrall to the idea that they need to chase an imagined median voter, and adopt that voter’s positions. Mamdani’s victory shows another way: hold principles, and persuade people to share them.

It is not shocking that this President refuses to give hungry people food, even when the courts tell him that he must.

The failure of the “blue no matter who” crowd to rally behind Mamdani really just lays the reality of that position bare, doesn’t it?

Conde Nast ruins the one publication worth reading. Teen Vogue is being absorbed into Vogue and stripped of the BIPOC and trans people who made it an award winning publication.

Source checking is important, but also assuming that this administration is lying is a fair guess.
A terrific AFP fact check uses reverse image searches to expose how a White House video took scenes from Florida, Texas, South Carolina and Nebraska and lied that they showed "Chicago is in chaos."

They are fighting like they are all in the Epstein files. Do your job for Pete's sake.
I continued to be baffled at this. It looks terrible for Johnson, for the GOP, and most of all for Trump - drawing extra attention to the Epstein story - while further energizing Dems. And for what? To postpone by a bit one moderately tough vote?
Rep. Johnny Olszewski D-MD (lower left) tried but failed to get recognized on the House floor today to get Rep.-elect Adelita Grijalva D-AZ sworn in. Speaker Johnson has refused to seat Grijalva for more than 3 weeks. "This is wrong and you know it Mr. Speaker."
