“The song sunk into culture, like a moisturizer sinks into skin. It no longer belongs to its creators. Within weeks it belonged to, well, Christmas.” Loved this quote in @20thcenturymarc.marcburrows.co.uk book “The Story of the Christmas No.1: Mistletoe & Vinyl”. I feel a similar way about this book

Muppets comedy doesn’t require a huge production budget. It also doesn’t have to be cranked to 11 to deliver solid comedy beats *if* you can deliver them through strongly defined characters. You can watch this & instantly know & laugh at these character types in a sketch...

My favourite late-70s Bowie album is Iggy Pop's The Idiot. And it's not even close.

#177 Nirvana: A Detailed Guide to the Band That Changed Everything by @20thcenturymarc.marcburrows.co.uk
This is one of the most oddly formatted books I've ever read. It is a day-by-day timeline of Nirvana from Kurt Cobain's first ever demo recording in 1986 to his death in 1994. However, that /1

On the one hand, @20thcenturymarc.marcburrows.co.uk's Mistletoe and Vinyl has finally succeeded in convincing me that The Power of Love should be in the pantheon of Christmas songs. On the other hand, it made me just listen to Mr Blobby, which it turns out I remember surprisingly well

Finally saw the new Naked Gun, which I enjoyed. Afterwards I flicked over to BBC One and caught the last 15 mins of ‘Dennis Procter: The Ten Year Old Doctor’, which was EXACTLY as funny in exactly the same way, on a fraction of the budget.

The Bake Off christmas cast is wild. One of them won an oscar, one of them married into the royal family and one of them once stayed in a Travelodge with me after we both died on our arses at a weird gig in Kings Lynn.

For people who claim that non-gendered language is awkward to use ... go read A Christmas Carol and tell me the gender of the Ghost of Christmas Past. People have been reading it for 180 years and it never jarred.

I'm currently half way through Marc Burrows' (who's hopefully doing an episode with us soon!) excellent book on Christmas Number Ones. Its brilliant. Really funny, very informative & mega christmassy. Its currently only 99p on Amazon so go buy a copy and get Marc the well deserved Xmas number 1!
Okay, I need your help. If everyone buys my book on Kindle today (for 99p), it could push it back to number one on the Music chart and I'd HAVE A CHRISTMAS NUMBER ONE. I would really, really, really like that for Christmas. 99p! www.amazon.co.uk/Story-Christ...

You will never, in a million years, guess what this is in reply to.
It's always a question if you take something literally. It might you even turn into such an evil like the political movement MAGA.
I try myself not to ban thoughts about enchanted things, but I also don't put into them expectations.

If you want, it's in a kind the mastery around an abstractness.
