even apart from the issues i discuss here, it needs to be acknowledged that the birth certificate has not, historically, reliably furnished people with complete parentage information. Neither my OBC nor my legally valid BC identifies my biological father, for instance. And that is wrong. 🥚

i think that to respect the right every person has to their genetic/genealogical origins, and to respect the rights of queer people to form families, we *have* to examine the cisheteronormative assumptions built into the birth certificate itself. 🥚

🥚I was already familiar with the black-market adoption ring in Tennessee run by Georgia Tann, but I didn’t realize she also trafficked babies from mental health institutions (𝐚𝐬𝐲𝐥𝐮𝐦𝐬). I suspect this happened worldwide across carceral institutions and remains hidden.

a good part of me thinks that in addition to everything else, the reason they are scrubbing these stories is they do not want disadvantaged kids to believe they can aspire to anything other than their designated “black” or “hispanic” or “woman” job

#anupdateonourfamily really did more than it ever needed to humanize rehomers. They said rehoming on FB was part of the spiraling conspiracy theories. It's not. FB 100% cosigns that and it's no secret. #DanandTim had the same thing done to them as Huxley. I'll never forget that chill. The drop. 🥚

The ban on #trans kids: Children have no rights and this, for children alone, will devastate our country. The order includes adults ('up to 19' implies it definitely will). Future conversion therapy as billable, 'best practice' is the future. As an #adoptee family separation will happen. #war
