Had no idea the joy an empty dog food bowl could bring.

One nice kind of happiness is when your 14 year old dog who’s been very unwell with one thing after another for 10 months has kicked it all and is eating enthusiastically again.

Sometimes I like to check the Rockd app as if it were social media and yep, still sitting on precambrian rock, nothing has changed.

some exciting news:

announcing CREATOR & INFLUENCER STUDIES, the first open-access peer reviewed journal dedicated to creator and influencer culture research. I'm honoured to be named as one of the journal's inaugural associate editors.

submissions open Feb 12.

This is great! Congratulations.

Outside is the best side

Well I already do that!

Insta ad algorithms are convinced I should become a certified Forest Therapy Practitioner and, ya know, maybe they’re right.

Catherine O’Hara made me laugh so hard so many times. Too soon.

Update: Blacksmithing is absolutely not the thing for 2026.

But now I will forever appreciate hand forged things far more.
Signed up for a blacksmithing class because why not. Maybe banging hot metal with heavy tools is just the thing for 2026.

But wait there’s more… we’re told the neighbor pried the mountain lion jaws apart, freed her dog’s head, and then stared the lion down and threw rocks at it until it left.

I will not be messing with my neighbor.

Neighbor across the street emailed to alert us that a mountain lion attacked her dog when she let him out last night.

(dog is injured but will recover, lion is… gonna try our dog next?)

I’d still rather live among animal predators than government ones.

Shutting the government down because the president’s thug army keeps murdering American citizens for no reason seems pretty reasonable, IMO!
If they are doing this to white people in broad daylight imagine what they are doing to non-white people in detention facilities.

Deepest gratitude to the people of Minneapolis.

social media is a thousand indoor kids calling each other cowards for not individually waging physical combat revolution against the largest military in the world

HIGHLY recommend!

It’s the slogan for interpreting social media

Why yes I did just write “authenticity, schmauthenticity” in something destined for publication and no I don’t think I’ll edit it out.
