13k comments on one tweet is a massive payout. All of the tweets follow a certain formula, so the content is likely automated using AI technology (e.g., AI generated images and text). Basically running it as a money printing machine. But for those in the US, it translates to low simmering rage.

When I coined the term Weaponized unreality and wrote and spoke publicly about the massive network of bad actors radicalizing digital communities this was exactly what I was speaking about exactly what we are seeing in real life now.American fascism needed a weaponized unreality state and built one.
Twitter pays people based on engagement (views, retweets, comments, etc). It appears that many MAGA accounts are based abroad and they use AI technology to generate low-effort rage bait.

My guess is that this will get worse as AI tech improves. For instance, fake videos of minorities doing crime.

Mad respect for Eugen. Imagine a world where the CEOs of social media platforms regularly stepped aside when they realized they weren't cut out for the job.

When you recreate Twitter, you shouldn't be surprised that you've recreated Twitter.

Boggles my mind that Bluesky's leadership seems to have done very little forward thinking about these issues.

We need a reset back to before September 2001! Get rid of "Homeland" "Security" and all of the adjuncts to it... DHS has been a total failure and an international embarrassment for this country (although many people here still wet their underpants in fear of [brown] "terrorists!")
the *BORDER* Patrol, should be at the border, not in the middle of the Midwest, terrorizing folks with tear gas.

Defund entirely and abolish ICE, trials for all involved that wore a mask, and restructure immigration with compassion and empathy at its heart.

ICE was formed after 9/11 to protect America from terrorists, not working people, migrant or not.
Since THEY are now the terrorists doing violence against Americans, they should be disbanded.

Evidently it would be so hard (or career-ending, more likely,) that none of the other people there were able to muster up the cojones to say/ask it!!!
How hard would it be to say, "Excuse me, Mr. President, that comment is offensive. Our colleague asked a legitimate question that deserves a respectful answer." Every member of the White House press corps should be prepared to say something similar when Trump attacks a colleague.

It was Miami Herald local reporter Julie Brown @jkbjournalist.bsky.social who actually covered the Epstein story and blew it wide open. She cared about the victims and Epstein's crimes, not access.
National outlets not only didn't, they refused to. They thought it was tawdry and beneath them.

This administration just wants to lie with impunity - they hate being called on it by *anyone*, whether it's the media, or even worse by an insider or a whistleblower
'Draining the swamp' by excluding "senior employees from legal protections that prohibit U.S. government agencies from retaliating against whistleblowers who accuse them of wrongdoing, such as violating the law or wasting funds."

This is disgusting.
Trump suggests Khashoggi had it coming: "You're mentioning someone that was extremely controversial. A lot of people didn't like that gentleman that you're talking about. Whether you like him or didn't like him, things happen. But he knew nothing about it. You don't have to embarrass our guest."

Just based on evidence so far, a great number of those Jan 6 folks that got pardons, are actual criminals IRL. This should be a much, much bigger story, with all of this/their info gathered in one place for easy reference!
Sometimes my friends and I would wonder how bad it was gonna get, and I think this sentence does a good job of encapsulating our guesses.
"A man pardoned by President Donald Trump for storming the Capitol was arrested on child molestation charges, according to Florida officials, who said he tried to use an anticipated Jan. 6 payout to silence the victim."

From the description, this particular incident appears to be a targeted enforcement operation; they were looking for a specific person. That he was at church at the time is no longer an obstacle under this administration.
Fifteen-year-old Miguel Vazquez was one of the people who took off running when federal agents arrived. “I thought, ‘Wait, why am I running? I’m a citizen,’” Vazquez said.
