Challenge accomplished- well done Celia!

Wonderful Giotto bringing back memories of Florence and the Monet is in the Orangerie in Paris?

I’ve seen this exhibition in different combinations over the years - it is brilliant, beautiful and devastating - good to be reminded of it today.

I hadn’t seen this before now and I am completely blown away. Jesse Buckley singing Sinead O’Connor’s Troy. Kindred spirits. Connected to the same well, the same source. Unbelievable performance.
Everyone needs to see this.

Here are my 10 favourite books in translation read for the first time this year. My highlights were definitely Samanta Schweblin’s Good and Evil and Other Stories and Vincenzo Latronico’s Perfection.

I’ll post full listings with translators on my blog at the end of the week.

This is such an important book.
Patrick Lonergan has done us a great service in writing down in words the essence of @druidtheatre.bsky.social first 50 years. That which it was, is, and will be, the eternal quest for alchemy borne of the earth far beneath the streets of Galway.

Many congratulations Celia - it was indeed a very Happy Day!

Niche UK academia question: does anyone have experience of producing accurate figures of how grants from charities contribute to university finances across a research cycle. The usual 'cost recovery' model produces anomalies. There must be other and more holistic ways of accounting for their value.
