this is lovely and also: I don't think this is embarrassing at all!

in the same way that it wouldn't be embarrassing for me to have not picked up on a lot of references to Yoruba mythology in a movie - that's not my culture and it's OK to need it explained.

none of us come from all the cultures.
This is so insightful (unsurprisingly) and most of it passed me by, I'm embarrassed to say
I poured my heart out about Marty Supreme, Jewish identity, why the Old Testament isn’t the same book as the Torah and what it takes to survive trauma

@chase.caster.quest ...Swahili was labeled as an Adamawa-Ubangi language rather than as Benue-Congo, and Yoruba was labeled as Benue-Congo rather than Volta-Niger. Again, I love your game, and I just want it to be as good as possible, so I was wondering if you would be at all open...

Most of the Jewish population in Israel have European ancestry. My ancestors most likely came from Nigeria, but I'd be skeptical that Caribbean folks going to Africa and claiming land that was historically Yoruba is pushing back against colonialism.

African Medicine Wheel: Dagara (Dagaaba) people, Yoruba people, and Bakongo (Kongo) people

Most people know about medicine wheels in the Americas, but they are also part of Siberian religion, and since people from the Americas came from Siberia, that is to be expected.

Computer scientist develops Yoruba learning app, KoEDE
A computer scientist at the University of Ibadan (UI), Dr. Ronke Sakpere, has developed a mobile application, KoEDE, to boost Yoruba Language learning among children through gamified digital tools. Sakpere shared her motivation and the significance of the application with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Ibadan on Tuesday. The innovation comes amid growing concerns over declining fluency in indigenous languages among Nigerian children, particularly in urban centres where English dominates communication at home and in schools. Nigeria is home to more than 500 indigenous languages, but experts, however, warned of weakening intergenerational transmission, as many children struggle to speak their mother tongues fluently.

The Black Hammer dude used to dress up as the Joker but later said he was channeling Eshu (the yoruba god) while just wearing Joker makeup. Which cracked me up. Like showing up in a sonic the hedgehog costume, undeniably, and being like "yeah I'm channeling Loki, from mythology"

Mehn this ethnic superiority thing makes me feel even more uncomfortable about Yoruba chauvinism and to a separate degree South African xenophobia towards other African nationals
Trump nominated a legit white nationalist to a top post at the State Department. I asked him some basic questions about his belief in the “erasure of white culture”. Watch this embarrassing, fumbling answer. Like he has never before been asked to explain his views.
