Sheikh Muhammad Bashir Saliu, the Chief Imam of Ilorin, has passed away at the age of 75. His death was confirmed on Monday. The respected Islamic scholar died after decades of service to Islam and the Ilorin Emirate. Born in 1950 in Ilorin, Kwara State, Sheikh Saliu dedicated his life to Islamic scholarship and religious leadership. He became the 12th Chief Imam of the Ilorin Emirate in 1983, a position he held for over 40 years.

The State Security Service, on Monday, amended the criminal charge it filed against Omoyele Sowore, the publisher of Sahara Reporters, and co-defendants over an alleged false claim against President Bola Tinubu. The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has removed 607 beggars, including individuals with severe mental health conditions, from the streets of Abuja.
