#value-creation
For people in positions of economic power, the act of creation is a problem in the way of them having something to sell. They see no end value in the product beyond its ability to make money.

To give one distinguishing example, Locke held to a labor theory of property creation and (mostly) a labor theory of value. He also insisted revolution was justified and property could only be held if one left as good or more for others.

None of these are characteristic neoliberal views.

Put differently, if you see value in the process of iteration and creation, but *don't* see the value of taste and sensibility in that, then it becomes easy - logical even - to break any creative act into an engineering one.

Which is, more or less, what generative AI does.

Obviously there is a speculative hype AI bubble and the insane growth is not Real BUT there is clearly value creation occurring. The dot com bubble was similar. This is extremely early stage tech (w many problems... but still).

If we want technology to work, we have to begin with the truth.

The real risk now (for people, products, work, everything) is structural exclusion from the agentic economy. The strength of a firm’s SCA is inversely proportional to the distance between signed work (Trust) and Value Creation.

I have combined type adhd and ME/cfs/long covid.
You will not see me on TikTok because I value my health and my extremely limited mental energy, thanks

Writing is my job. Not video creation. If I wanted to do that for a living I would stream and/or make long form content cause that's what I prefer

The ownership and managerial classes’ entire existence is delegation of creation. They sell this as the democratization of delegation, but crucially, their wealth doesnt come from delegation. Their millions come from extracting value from the creation of hundreds.
I have grown to believe that excessive wealth does something to your brain that is analogous to a serious head injury

They do both....coins and notes and increasingly credit money to support/facilitate private credit creation. Treasury bonds are effectively money in that they store value, and can be used as security for further borrowing or exchanged for other assets.

Big Tech playbooks don’t fit every industry. When CIOs mimic instead of anchor, IT investments turn into costly distractions. Learn why understanding value creation—not imitation—is the key to strategy.

I'm currently writing about the baptismal covenant and thinking about efforts to get a creation-care specific baptismal vow added, as if we can't/don't really value it otherwise

It's telling because artistic creativity is seen as lacking efficiency or incurring delays in the creation of a final *thing*. The process is only of value because of the results it produces. I don't know whether there is much deeper analysis to be had here, but it nonetheless belies a viewpoint.

Everyone thinks of ideas. Your cool ideas are stupid. Fewer people put their ideas into action where they realize that creation is a process and ideas are a cheap input with no intrinsic value.

Do work or fuck off 🤷🇺🇸🦅

Also Donald Trump is a child rapist and the DOJ is covering it up 😱💀

The next tech supercycle is forming inside enterprise data layers. Software sentiment remains cautious, but fundamentals point to a multi-year inflection. When AI spend shifts from experiments to execution, data-centric platforms sit closest to value creation.

For people like Mark Cuban, everything is a product to buy or sell. It's only value is monetary.

They don't understand the value in the act of creation.

If creating something doesn't lead to massive financial gain, they see no point in doing it.

They will NEVER understand.

format-first content creation = video templates that work repeatedly. you're not restricting creativity, you're channeling it efficiently so you can focus on delivering value 🎯

The central feature of capitalism is not consumption but production. Capitalists don't produce because people want to consume but because production allows for extraction of value - consumption is itself manufactured through creation of desire.

I agree. The joy of art for the creator IS the effort, the time spent, the choices/decisions made, the knowledge gained, the obstacles overcome during the process of creation. If you abdicate everything to AI and only editing that, then I just don't see the point or very much value in it at all.

I mean, he can’t put a dollar value on the act of creation so he’s got 0 interest in that part.
