I'm specifically after an unneutered black and white cat I've been calling Tiptoe, because the tips of her toes are white. She's with what may be her sister from an older litter, who I trapped and neutered in September. She may be keeping Tiptoe away from the trap.

duckville stream screenshot. the four runner/khaki babies are now in a pen somewhere in the human house. they have a tv screen now that is playing the stream for them. three are standing while the fourth sits. they are looking more and more like proper ducks every day the babies all standing far back in the pen, almost looking like they’re watching their tv. you can see the tips of their first flight feathers popping out on their wings!! two of the babies are bucket bathing while a third is walking towards them—big teenager looking feet on em. the fourth is standing tiptoe and flapping their wings—there’s real feathers on them now!

Laos was known as the Land of a Million Elephants (Lane Xang) but the elephant in Laos is now a profoundly endangered species. Some 1000 remain, of which an estimated 500 work in the forest industry harvesting timber.
Elephant Village supports the local community and increases people’s well-being while working towards the survival and safety of the elephants. The project employs villagers from Ban Xieng Lom as Elephant Lodge staff, maintenance workers, cooks, and guides. A few also train to become mahouts. Elephant Village ensures the preservation of a virgin river valley that otherwise would be destroyed by signing a 20-year lease agreement with the Lao government to establish a sustainable tourism project. Keeping an elephant is very costly and labour-intensive. Some female Asian elephants have very tiny tusks called tushes but no long tusks. About one-quarter of the tusk is hidden within the socket. Thus, the typical question of why people can not cut off the elephant's tusks to ward off poachers is answered. A large amount of ivory remains attached inside the head and to the skull, which has to be carved out of the head to be removed. They have smaller ears than the African elephant with large veins flowing beneath the thin covering of skin. This is said to cool the blood and be important for temperature control (elephants cannot sweat!) From the age of 10, the top of the ear gradually folds over, increasing at about an inch for every 20 years of an elephant’s life. This provides a rough indication of an elephant’s age. Elephants have an excellent sense of hearing and are said to be able to pick up some sounds over distances of 10 miles! Elephants are capable of hearing at low frequencies and are most sensitive at 1 kHz. Elephant ears have thick bases with thin tips. The ear flaps, or pinnae, contain numerous blood vessels called capillaries. Warm blood flows into the capillaries, helping to release excess body heat into the environment. This occurs when the pinnae are still, and the animal can enhance the effect by flapping them. The elephant´s foot is formed in such a way that it is essentially walking on tiptoe, with a tough and fatty part of connective tissue for the sole This spongy "shock absorber" helps an elephant to move silently. An elephant's five toes are buried inside the flesh of the foot. Harvesting of timber in Laos is diminishing and it’s just a matter of time before this becomes obsolete. This translates into hundreds of jobless elephants.Keeping an elephant is very costly and labor-intensive. Above all, it is because elephants need tremendous amounts of food.There have been a few efforts towards releasing elephants into the wild in Thailand with little success. Domesticated elephants are no longer naturalized to life in the jungle and there is little ‘wild’ left in them. Thus, releasing elephants into the wild doesn’t appear to be a viable alternative. These former logging elephants face a bleak future because they will find themselves on the margin of urban environments with no chance of finding adequate food or water and no access to veterinary care. Some say many of the soon-to-be jobless elephants may even be killed, or abandoned to a slow starvation.

Here are some tips:

Talking about the deceased is OK. You don’t need to tiptoe around your loved one’s memory. That will only make it worse. You miss them, & you can talk about them.

Our hands have fingertips but our toes dont have toetips yet we tiptoe or tippy-toe & you tiptoe on your tippy-toes ergo to tow the tow line on tiptoes and tippy-toes in regard to toes tows a towline on tips but only fingertips and not toetips but also not fingertips since you can’t tipfingers.

I'm in this picture and i don't like it!!
it's so wild when your parent changes when you become an adult. my dad is very cordial and non confrontational - he regularly helps me with adult stuff like changing the oil or providing insurance tips. he's always smiling when i call him on video and providing jokes when i complain about college when i was a kid, i would have to tiptoe around his anger issues often, sometimes running quietly past his work table until he got his own place completely separate from our family, locked away for days. every so often he would start screaming in the car and trying to hit me or my brother for talking too loud while my mom attempted to calm him down as he swerved on the road. and now he, smiling, helps me with car insurance. like oh, this is just who you are when you have power over someone, and this is who you are when you dont have power over someone. no wonder you can have a normal life, friends, work while scaring the shit out of your kids and wife. i see it now. i see why no one would have believed me. that, i think, is one of the core fears of trauma - seeing the outside of it from the perspective of other adults that brushed you aside, and understanding. of course, that understanding gives the opposite of solace; it just gives you more grief with nowhere for it to go

This is something I think about often.

Because, someday I'd like to have a kid - but at the same time I am terrified of continuing the cycle that I endured growing up. I don't want to be either of my parents.

yesterday was day 1 and we’ve already reached the lore drop goal! I’m excited and nervous to share this lol I’ve been sitting on it for a while because I really love writing but I’m embarrassed to share it because it was so discouraged for me when I was a kid ｡ﾟ(ﾟ´ω`ﾟ)ﾟ｡

A nose wiggle and a tail swish as she opens her eyes to stare into the woods. She stands and shakes the dampness from her skin, her clothes forming and taking its place. She lets out a satisfied breath and pulls her trusty goggles from her bag setting them atop her head. She reaches toward the sky standing on tiptoe to stretch, letting out a strained sound ending with a sigh of relief. She surveys her surroundings a bit before selecting a tree and scurrying up for a better view. She takes a deep breath appreciating the calm surrounding her. Effortlessly, she steps off allowing herself to fall as tree branches bend slightly to catch her and ensure she makes it safely to the ground. “Thank you, as always,” she touches a few droopy leaves along the way they and perk up at her touch. “I wish I could do more for you but you know I’m limited.” The trees rustle demonstrating their understanding. A pointed wind blows past seeming to direct her, so she follows. “Anywhere you’ll take me I’ll happily go.” And she did, she does, she always has, and she always will. Taking her little bit of magic wherever she could, silently aiding in almost unnoticeable ways, appreciating the differences every place has to offer. She adds to her curio day after day and takes her collections with her nearly everywhere to remember where she’s been and to return to those places once more.
