For what it's worth, I've been thinking the same thing the last few days. First day the infographics seemed cool. Now they all feel the same and (usually) not contributing extra information. I appreciate maybe they're not for me, maybe I'm entitled! I just wanted to say you're not a lone voice here.

They literally pay taxes. Sales tax, income tax, if they're using an illegal SSN, they're paying into Medcare and Social Security. If the are renting, they're contributing to property taxes. They pay all the same taxes everyone else does in most cases.

Like watch these two consecutively and just enjoy the painful stab of irony.

every time i see a post along the lines of "asexual people can have/like sex!!" i get a little sad because like. i know they're trying to work against the stereotype that we're all sex-repulsed/sex-averse but at the same time it feels like it's contributing to the othering of aces who dont like sex

Tech companies aren't the major driver of our economy, they're passing the same few billion dollars of money from pillar to post and inflating their revenues while contributing nothing meaningful and driving up electricity and pc component prices for people who want to do useful things with them.

I meant more in the context of that list of requirements. If someone is working, by default they're contributing more to the UK than a British person earning the same wage yet they're having further expectations placed on them to "contribute"

When I saw this chart I went this can't be real but no it's a real chart from a JP Morgan report from last week it's Unhinged. Real GDP growth contribution from tech capital expenditure which is almost all AI is almost half of the grown from US capital expenditure
