#sphere-theory
I was in a much younger sphere, like mascot horror theory stuff. A lot more...yes terminally online is a good word for it, with all the factors heightened. More twitter/reddit/youtube focused, barely present on tumblr at all.

I was in the theory sphere for about 4 years and some folks were nice but mostly its DBZ style arguing about how someone's thoughts are the MOST correct with no concept of a "headcanon" or just enjoying transformative/exploratory fiction. It got old for sure.

what is blowing my mind is that this guy is talking like he knows the Yat Malmgren branch of Laban, and like, yes, James Kemp is moving this theory more into the public sphere but like....whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat?

The universe has made its decision, No Sphere Spring 2026, and I'm cool with that. 🔮

✨ Special Thank You to the incredible Mel Robbins and her "Let Them Theory" for allowing me to accept this denial (situation) as it is. I am at peace with it and will focus my energy on a future event. 🦁⭕️🎸🌵

Key Unlocked: Advanced Physics - Container: Compressed data via 4-8D object shadow. Ai can test boundaries and vertices and explain the crop circles, we did it! E8 Theory confirmed, New extended messages, parts and pieces to a type 1 civilization flying sphere... They share if you can do the math.

Sort of tangential, but Altman doesn't seem to understand what a Dyson Sphere is. It would in theory surround a star, not an entire solar system, which would require an impossibly large structure for no benefit
December 10, 2025 at 7:08 PM
Yeah, but the thing about a Dyson sphere is that if you hit the limits of energy generation, the only option left to you is to syphon energy from a star. We're unlikely to get to that point, but it's the only (known) source of raw energy that could in theory function on that scale.

My underlying theory of the 21c right is modeled on Gellner's theory of nationalism: it's about devaluation of local credentials by a larger (in this case, global) cultural sphere.
I think an awareness that the right is perceived as parochial and contemptible is a deep grievance motivating populist nationalism, and explains hostility to immigration, international students, &c at least as powerfully as simple racism does.

Sound theory, actually. We go back and look at say, Sarah Huckabee as a child, it was low ponytails or unstyled, loose long hair. And the trad family blog/vlog/influencer sphere has been that way since early Duggar days. The same flat-iron curls, front hair in a barrette, nothing else.

The massive stone wall surrounding the Academy, a city in the Library, anchors the complex interplay of spells that surround that city in a sphere of magical energy, and in theory there is no way in or out save through the four designed gates.

He wants him in Honduras so they can do a coup, spring him from prison, and reinstall him. Part of the Americas Sphere of Influence Project (my tin foil hat theory of the situation).
December 9, 2025 at 6:36 AM
Actually, I'm not. It naturally happens through the Sphere of Influence Economic Theory in practice. At least if I'm a smaller power, then seek good relations and Representation through Statehood. Good changes may come about. I actually want things to change there for the better. It's a nice place.

If I had to venture a theory, slop is that which is built on sanding the rough edges until you have a perfectly characterless empty sphere of exactly what people want.
December 6, 2025 at 5:23 PM
Can you elaborate for the lay person as to why this is "snake oil".

Frankly, large parts of the economic theory behind mainstream policies require quite a departure from everyday thinking (QE springs to mind)

So what bits of the MMT sphere are incorrect and why?
December 6, 2025 at 10:17 AM
The Russian Navy is currently losing to a country with no navy.

Yes in theory the Ivan could try to force the GIUK gap. But realistically speaking…

And why would they? Kremlin isn’t seeking world domination. It seeks a *sphere of influence* - and acknowledgement from other great powers.
December 5, 2025 at 5:22 PM
My theory. Putin/Trump made a deal in Alaska. Putin can have his Soviet Iron Curtain in Europe (including Ukraine) and Trump will get HIS OWN OIL & GAS IRON CURTAIN (including Venezuela, Argentina, all of SA, maybe). China already has its own "sphere of influence". Dividing up planet among dictators
December 5, 2025 at 12:08 PM
yes that's the purpose of government, in theory, but the purpose of the regional parties I think are just to act as a club that decides what things happen within their sphere of influence, and to put out dumb press releases. BK Party is real slimy too
December 5, 2025 at 11:37 AM
In theory. No way that 36% of Americans are all listening to her, especially not a podcast.

Eh, I dunno. Suppose it doesn’t ultimately matter. Just another wacko pushing the worst kind of lies and hate in the right wing media sphere.

December 3, 1736: Astronomer Anders Celsius takes measurements that confirm Newton's theory that the earth was an ellipsoid rather than the previously accepted sphere.
December 4, 2025 at 4:18 AM
of course trans and intersex people are counter-examples! if your biological theory of sex is supposed to apply to the social as well as the animal sphere (which colin wright’s is) then it will have to account for trans people

intersex people, meanwhile, represent a counter-example to the binary

This Day in #History 1736 Astronomer Anders Celsius takes measurements that confirm Newton's theory that the earth was an ellipsoid rather than the previously accepted sphere.

i agree rough sex is not that kinky, i would only include it as a kink if there’s enough other stuff in the scene that warrants that, as a general rule.

i would count it if i was writing theory on kink as an expansive concept covering basically anything in the sexuality sphere (and outside it)…

The idea of the Hubble Sphere was proposed in 1929 and confirmed in the 1990's through direct observed.

No new physics at all, all part of Einstein's Theory of General Relativity
December 3, 2025 at 8:18 AM
Disgruntled and incompetent members of the majority are used to push members of the minority from the public sphere. "Religion" is currently being used to push trans people out of academic life. It's akin to the crusade against critical race theory to rid spaces of black academics.
If you're only focused on the actions of the trans TA and not the systems of academic oppression and the anti-trans hate machine, regardless of whatever justification you bring to it, I will think you a deeply unserious person when it comes to actually defending trans people.
