Friends I wish I could share my lunch with you. (it's a rice bake with sinangag on the bottom, fried tocino spam, furikake, green onions, kewpie mayo, and sambal. It's supposed to have egg but today is not a egg eating day in my brain.)

Also being a grownup means you can put a whole head of Music Garlic in your sinangag (3 cups of cooked rice) and no one can stop you. Yes that is like a heaping half cup of chopped garlic. I am living my best life.

My husband was away this weekend, so I made the smelliest meal I could think of. When you measure garlic with your heart for sinangag, it actually overpowers fried dilis.

The use of black rice (and chilies) might be heretical, but I really enjoyed my first attempt at Philippine sinangag. Here it is with Swedish sausage instead of longaniza, making this..."korvsilog".😅
Anyway, it was delicious.

In the Philippines, we have a dish we call "silog", which primarily consists of garlic fried rice, fried egg, plus an optional savory food like fried chicken or corned beef, and use the name of the savory as a prefix (i.e. chicken silog=chicksilog).
