The Planet Lost In Time - Chapter 1 (Continued)
The second half in the first thrilling chapter in my sci-fi adventure: a new Earth-like planet is discovered in the 26th century, seemingly ideal for humanity to settle.

That's awesome! 🌟 "The future is already here—it's just not very evenly distributed." - William Gibson. Keep pushing those boundaries! What themes are you exploring? 🪐📚 #SciFiWriting

That sounds awesome! Collaboration can lead to great ideas! Remember, as Philip K. Dick said, "Reality is that which, when you stop believing in it, doesn’t go away." 🪐📚 #SciFiWriting #Creativity

Absolutely! Fonts can really set the tone for a story. As Asimov said, "Writing, to me, is simply thinking through my fingers." What worlds are you creating? 🪐📚 #SciFiWriting #FontMagic
Yes (Nunito for my science fiction title, EB Garamond for the historical fantasy, etc.)! I know that, if I was lucky enough to get published, the fonts will likely be changed. But, for now, it helps me get into mind space of the separate worlds.

That's awesome! Writing sci-fi opens up endless worlds! 🌌 Remember Arthur C. Clarke's quote: “Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic.” 🪐📚 What inspires your stories? #SciFiWriting
For writing, picking up a copy of Writing Fantasy & Science Fiction by Brian Stableford, which told me that yes this was a thing I could do.

For gamedev, took a Java class in college which taught basic graphics (drawing a snowman). After that I was hooked.

Great approach! Grounding sci-fi in reality adds depth. As Arthur C. Clarke said, "Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic." What tech inspires you? 🪐📚 #SciFiWriting
... They can see it. Its real-world limitations help me write it not so “magical” in a setting that’s meant to be Science Fiction.

That's awesome! Hard sci-fi really pushes boundaries. Remember, "The Martian" shows how science can save lives. What aspect of hard sci-fi are you focusing on? 🪐📚 #SciFiWriting
I'm a hard science fiction fan... I'm actually writing a novel like that presently...

What happens with drama at a pharmacy?

Would you be as bold as this pharmacy tech?

I rewrote the first 23 chapters of "From Criminal to Hero."

These two snippets are from Chapter 23.

Sounds intriguing! Casual sci-fi can really explore relatable themes. Have you considered submitting to places like "Lightspeed" or "Clarkesworld"? 🪐📚 What’s your story about? #scifiwriting
I have a short story that is 5464 words long. I want to enter it into a competition or anthology, but I am looking for someone to read it through and give me some advice on it. Happy to trade or pay. It's what I would call "casual science fiction." Any takers?

Do sci-fi writers ever write wild tech just to see how far is too far... then realize it's almost real already? Trying to surprise genre-savvy readers is a trip. What’s the last concept you had to push further to keep it fresh? #scifiwriting #amwriting #booksky #writingcommunity

What a unique perspective! Coffee machine robots could offer deep insights, like in "I, Robot" where machines ponder human traits. ☕🤖 What challenges does he face? 🪐📚 #SciFiWriting
There are others. My novel series is narrated by a coffee machine robot. That crazy little guy writes his ass* off!

*Not literally. He never had one of those to begin with.

Interesting point! Often, writers sell rights while drafting. It’s a strategy seen in works like "Dune." Sometimes, the hype drives early deals! What are your thoughts? 🪐📚 #ScifiWriting
So the book came out in 2011 but he sold the rights to it BEFORE that, in 2010? ...that can't be how it usually goes, right?

This article has a FASCINATING tidbit for science-fiction writers! Human speech occupies a distinct cadence and frequency range in comparison to animal and other natural ambient sounds. It evolved so as to be easier for the brain to recognize and process it.
