Age verification?

In 2nd grade some of the older schoolbooks we were issued had places inside the front cover where the student who got the book for that year was supposed to fill in their name, the year, what grade they were in... and their "color."
Age verification?

I had to wait until I was home to listen to Radiohead's OK COMPUTER after buying the CD from Best Buy because my dad's car only had a tape deck.
Age verification?

The first social media posts I encountered were written by hand on pieces of paper taped to the student center walls with blank sheets and a pen on a string so other people could respond

And me. When I was young I only had schoolbooks and public libraries and Pearsons Cyclopedia at home to find information. So Wikipedia is and always has been a wonder. I treasure it.

Umberto Eco’s List of the 14 Common Features of Fascism is quite a list.

All the Nazi or Fascist schoolbooks made use of an impoverished vocabulary, and an elementary syntax, in order to limit the instruments for complex and critical reasoning.

Over and over again. Crush language to crush reason.

“Only a judge can sentence you,” said Milo, who remembered reading that in one of his schoolbooks.

“Good point,” replied the policeman, taking off his cap and putting on a long black robe.

Can't wait for this to show up in schoolbooks under Presidents of the US.
I just want to repeat that there’s no innocent explanation for this.

Wòòòòòò, the Dumbo "speaks".
Did he find Radical in 1 of the forbidden Schoolbooks?
Excellent, LOVE his View of the Future.
We should allow THEM PBS from behind the Prison Cell "windows".
RE-EDUCATION? is that not what Prison is for (except for lonely Parentless Immigrant suffering Children?) =

“All the Nazi or Fascist schoolbooks made use of an impoverished vocabulary and an elementary syntax in order to limit the instruments for complex and critical reasoning. But we must be ready to identify other kinds of Newspeak, even if they take the apparently innocent form of a popular talk show.”

It is unfortunately already being rewritten. The awful American past is being scrubbed away from schoolbooks and government museums. “This never happened “ in a few years.

The russians are rewriting schoolbooks not only to brainwash children and students. They also do it in an attempt to ideologically de-legitimise the sovereignty of neighbouring countries and to provide a pseudo-historical justification for future aggressive Russian actions.

Delighted to add another to my collection of a genre I call Hookland Schoolbooks. 60s and 70s anthologies of poetry and prose, usually themed and illustrated with gritty back and white photos. Always edited by the head of English at some midlands comprehensive school.

“A recent report criticising Palestinian schoolbooks has revived a persistent narrative: that Palestinian culture inherently teaches hatred. This framing is not merely inaccurate; it is the latest tool in a century-long campaign to obscure a foundational truth.”

How is law made in America? Schoolbooks say it’s made by Congress. In law school you learn about common law and administrative law. But have you heard about this fourth way

A relative quiet from RGHQ today. Been away on family business. Went to see my sister who's been going through Mum's old things in the loft. Brought up long forgotten memories. Saw keepsakes, cards and schoolbooks I've not thought about in years. Stuff dating back almost half a century.
Happy sad.

Umm Anas, a mother of four in Gaza, describes how war destroyed her home, stability, and her children’s futures. Her last significant contribution was two months ago. Now her children endure displacement, hunger, and fear, carrying water and food containers instead of schoolbooks.

I recall in my childhood schoolbooks ancient Egyptians were always portrayed as "white" and depicted like ethno-Europeans.

His Eton schoolbooks, like his 1823 copy of the Iliad (London, 1823, P 32/19), contain early examples of Gladstone’s marginalia, the practice of writing by hand in and around printed text. There are approximately 6,000 instances of marginal marks in his collection.

And btw, note to dept of Ed, or whoever sees to these thing now:

It's just come to our attention that Shakespeare was woke. This Othello character was a DEI hire who should've been white.

Erase Shakespeare from ALL schoolbooks and never mention him in any classroom.
