The crew and I just finished this small mural at Factory Town in the Little Haiti district of Miami. The project was curated by my friend Casey from Known Gallery, and I was proud to paint with a great group, including Revok and Risk. The “They Live We Sleep” mural is inspired by several things. My original interest in skulls came from their recurrent presence in skateboard and punk rock iconography of the 80s.

The 2 panel Blade Runner 2049 meme, showing the giant hologram of joi leaning in from the left to point at Agent K, who is standing on a walkway looking up at her - except she's now Sadako/Samara from Ringu/The Ring. The 2nd panel, which usually shows a closeup on the rain-streaked face Agent K, still does, but now he's all twisted and shit because he's gazed upon the face of infinite terror. It doesn't really work though. I should have made joi look a little more like Sadako/Samara, but she just looks like joi with much longer hair that now covers her face. I probably went ahead and posted it anyway, first time around, because I spent ages matching skin tones on Agent K's freaky mug. The 4 panel Drake meme, but the smiling character in the top left panel is the scanner who scans Daryl Revok in "Scanners" (1981). He's looking pretty chipper as he points at a resting-faced Darryl Revok in the top right panel. The bottom left panel shows the same guy, same pose, except his head has now ballooned out to terrifying proportions and is about to go pop. The bottom right panel shows Revok with a proper fuck you up face on. The Anthony Adams meme where he's half-hidden by a tree, staring intently at something off camera while he rubs his hands and licks his lips, but he's transformed into the weird werecat Michael Jackson becomes at the end of the 'Thriller' video. He's also wearing the same yellow and red basketball jacket because details matter. The 3 panel "Bike Fall" meme which shows a cartoon man on a bicycle riding along a road, except the 1st panel now shows the man on the bicycle riding along what appears to be a desert road, whistling a loud, and probably jaunty, tune. The 2nd panel (which usually shows him jamming a stick into the front wheel of his own bike) now has the man firmly clamped in the jaws of a graboid ("Tremors") that's just erupted through the ground beneath him, sending his bike flying. The 3rd panel, which is usually a picture of the man lying on the grass next to his fallen bike as he clutches at his knee, pondering how such a thing could have happened, now shows a fallen bike, half-in, half-out of the road. The rider is nowhere to be seen, but there is a big fuck off hole in the road where the monster dragged him to his doom. There are bloodied finger trails across the road that take a sharp downward turn into the creature's burrow. Lad's done.
