some of these are recency bias maybe but still, im kinda proud of them

cus Cullen did it. This is also counting the HD-2D remakes. There might be some slight recency bias, but that remake of II did so much and more for that game

Recency bias has passed. I said it in April, and I’ll say it again today, just as nominations are announced.

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is going to be some 13 year old kid’s Final Fantasy VII. And in 20 years, I look forward to meeting a ProfGustave. #thegameawards

I've had "I'm a plushy" thoughts for decades, the recency is just my recent comfort in really talking about it

TOTK at number 1? Really? It's not a bad game by any means but this is some serious recency bias.

Two things I hate:
1. Recency Bias
2. Anyone who doesn’t acknowledge that Troy Parrott is the best player in the world.

Hilarious in hindsight after all the hours I've dumped (so far) into Hundred Line, which is actually kinda sorta better than Danganronpa...? Maybe? Recency bias is hitting me hard, I know.
Monokuma on Hundred Line Not-Danganronpa.

Would y'all be mad if I said that this type of stuff has always been an integral part of the franchise, regardless of its recency?
dawg I'm going to fucking piss and shit myself I'm punching holes in the fucking walls

One does not simply make a Top 10 Board Games list.

Updating BG Stats, adding ratings for BGG, double checking what I played on BGA. Pondering how much "ease of getting it to the table" factors in to decisions. Adjusting for recency effects. Considering setup time and teach time.

There’s a vocal contingent who want to sell Richy (myself regretfully included) because we need an elite striker but that isn’t Parrott? It just stinks of kinda lazy recency bias.

Big Shot
Bohnanza
Bus
High Society
Irish Gauge
Root
Sail
Sky Team
Sleeping Gods
Spirit Island

This list changes all the time based on recency, how within reach it is on my current vision, who I have over, how I’m feeling

Also in ABC order because I don’t want to do that to myself right now haha

Alternatively, an "anti recency bias" policy at a con where more recent characters get shrunk smaller than characters who've been around longer- or, vice versa, I'm not picky.

Sinners would be my pick. I'm not sure about recency bias but here are some I liked:
Weapons
Together
Frankenstein
Chainsaw Man: Reze
Without saying Sinners, name your film of the year.

Maybe it’s recency bias but mine is Gail Simone’s Uncanny X-Men.

I learned so much American history and botany through this book.

The recency of Jim Crow and sharecropping was something that really struck me.

Montgomery is GenX & she writes about how her mother missed school during the spring to go work the cotton fields supporting her family.

Just from the vibes of all my mutuals, I think it's gonna come down to Expedition 33 or Silksong, with Silksong benefitting from recency bias.

I think Bananza is a solid 3rd place contender, but will probably just win best family game.
The Game Awards GOTY nominees leaked:

-Clair Obscur: Expedition 33
-Death Stranding 2: On the Beach
-Donkey Kong Bananza
-Hades II
-Hollow Knight: Silksong
-Kingdom Come: Deliverance II

If he is being honest, this is most likely just a result of recency, frequency, and greater exposure to left aligned critiques.

Recency bias is my new favourite thing.

That's called "recency bias"
November 11, 2025 at 2:36 AM
I’m tired of your recency bias. We didn’t have that back in my day.
November 11, 2025 at 10:19 PM
Yeah you're right. That recency bias got me...
