I'm going over to stuttgart in a few days to the Openjazz festival there, (JMJ on 11 July. Should probably have booked for kraftwerk earlier too, but only there for a day or two) so it will be interesting to see the summer dynamic there

Despite this, Jazz Jackrabbit 1 is still a game I do recommend you check out. And it's easily buyable on GOG, so it's more available now than it was 10 years ago.
Also, there is a source port (OpenJazz) that you can increase the resoultion with, but with no scaling options, it's lacking

I feel bad for Jazz Jackrabbit. It has almost 20 years of user content but there's barely any big fan stuff that'd reach to other audiences. Despite of OpenJazz and Jazz 2 Resurrection existing, i haven't heard of projects porting it to other consoles, or a restoration of Jazz 3 like other protos.
