#naiveté
Dans une moindre mesure, on répète les mêmes erreurs que dans les années trente à l'époque de la montée du sinistre parti nazi en Europe : les petites compromissions, le manque de courage, la naïveté devant la violence assumée de l'adversaire à venir...

Venezuela’s Machado Praises Trump in Fox News Interview

Venezuela needs better politicians than Machado. She is so naive it is not naivete any more.

First Meduza newsletter of 2026 is out. Last week, Carnegie Center senior fellow Alexander Baunov wrote a gigantic essay about Putin's path dependence, Europe's naïveté on Russian experts, the Kremlin's overturning of Earth's moral universe. It was a lot. Here's my summary. meduza.io/en/brief/202...

Ignorance has has always been something I excel in, followed by naivete and pride.

6 and 5. Amane/Gentle and Ran - Delicious Party Precure

These two are hella cute later, but I love how toxic their relationship were at the start. Amane/Gentle used Ran for information, taking advantage of her naivete, and thus Ran felt she contributed to the problem...

I wish there was more! 😭

I want to know what Biden's got to say for himself right now. I want to know what his son and grandkids think of him. I want to know what Obama and Harris think of him.

He needs to be called out for his craven inaction and blind naivete. Publicly.

ok nvm muyu did lowkey get burned af for his ideals bc everyone died bc he didn't 除根 however i still respect the naivete

The naïveté. No worries, we’ll balance the equation out soon.

‘It’s not going to frighten me’: Doug Ford says Trump’s past annexation threats against Canada no more concerning after Venezuela takeover
Ontario Premier Doug Ford says he is not worried about U.S. President Donald Trump’s previous threats about annexing Canada in light of the U.S. takeover of Venezuela last week.

Not as naïveté or denial. But with a profound conviction that goodness, truth, and beauty make us stronger, resilient, more human and humane — and that goodness, truth, and beauty reveal the weakness, corruption, and ugliness of lying, manipulation, and evil as they are.

I mean, congrats on surface-level naïveté and reductive reasoning along with pro-active acquiescence to fascism.

Oh and enjoy your block too!
My position on impeachment is the same as it was six months ago: Impeachment is first about driving public attention to Trump’s crimes and corruption.

Democrats should introduce impeachment articles and force votes to boost their parallel media effort.

Performative public investigations matter.
Why push for impeachment?

Because politics is an exercise in moving public opinion as much as counting votes in the senate.

The Jan 6 Hearings were not a criminal proceeding against Trump that would end in jail, but they focused public attention.

It's important to do, even if you put their pictures out there already out of naivete. My eldest was an actress and model. I hate that I can type her name and see photos galore but I made darned sure no more were ever put out after she was finished with that phase of her life.

The thing is, this requires believing that she doesn't know how dog whistles work or that people make things for fun. It's feigned naivete, an assumption that defenders will unconsciously infantilize her.

IIRC this was after she also called the modder identical to incel culture warriors.

No shit. Susan Collins level naïveté combined with a sense of entitlement enjoyed by almost all Dem Senators. MN could go purple, perhaps red, under her “leadership”.
January 5, 2026 at 10:02 PM
Exactly. Feels like it takes UK / EU politicians 3-5 years to realise what is actually happening - see also China, see also Putin. It's fucking embarrassing to behold. The naiveté is breathtaking.

Why do they care so much about 80% bots and 99% disinfo?

She was one of the organizers, and her surprise at the arrest is consistent with what I take to be her naïveté: “I saw Maduro in person,” said Plichta. “People loved him. Maduro was elected by the people.” I try to avoid hot takes. I’m sure more will come out, namely about who called for the arrest.

Quelle naïveté ...

I’m at the point now where I’m trying to break down that cynicism and fear of trust, to try and reclaim some of the naïveté I had as a youth. To learn that my current default mode is based on fear and a need for self defence, and I swung too far in that direction, overcompensating. On guard, ready.
January 5, 2026 at 9:25 PM
I think I was inherently trusting as a child, to the point of naïveté. I took things at face value and didn’t understand the motives of why others would lie. I took things literally, had to learn nuance and euphemism. Over time I became less trusting, often made fun of for being gullible.

She should be sacked for having a case of terminal naivete : no cure
January 5, 2026 at 8:45 PM
I still cannot fathom a person for whom the US was/is somehow "the good guy" at any point in time, it's a grand naivete allowed only to US citizens at best and active grifting at worst
January 5, 2026 at 8:26 PM
right?! no one can still claim naivete, right?
January 5, 2026 at 8:21 PM
It’s cute when people think Donny Boy will leave after his term is up.
Are he and his ilk a threat to democracy or not?!
The naïveté, holy shit
