die Menschheit ist schon seit tausenden Jahren oligarchisch organisiert.
die Afd ist nichts anderes, als eine weitere, autoritärere Oligarchenclique.

was wir brauchen ist ein wirklicher Systemwechsel

...Hierarchies sow the seed of their own collapse, which is why we need rid of them.
Government without hierarchy is doable, with Citizens Assemblies selected by sortition.

We would not have this problem with lottocracy

Dutch MP Suzanne Kröger (green/social-democrat) fears 'Biden scenario' and advocates for citizens' assemblies. #SortitionNL #Lottocracy

Probably not the most inspiring pitch; but “Lottocracy: What have we got to lose?” does have sone real bite.

We combine this with the lottocracy

whoever figures out a way to bundle independent journalism subscriptions will be a hero
i know that this is an unpopular take, but everyone starting their own newsletter as a revenue stream is not a sustainable model for writing and reporting or for people who love and want to pay for media.

Het degenereren van burgerberaden: eerst zelfaanmelding en dan pas loten. Niet doen! | It's the completely wrong way of doing a citizens' assembly: apply first, lottery later. This time it's the Dutch province of Drenthe that doesn't get it. #SortitionNL #Lottocracy

Lottocracy is the superior form of government but no one is ready for that conversation

We should tear up the US constitution and institute full lottocracy. We would have topic based “juries” of a couple hundred randomly selected citizens each. Each person would serve a mandatory paid term and write and vote on policy as part of their jury. No president, no congress, no Supreme Court.
"my least woke opinion is---"

That's enough. We've had enough people indulging in the "thrill of a little conservatism", as a treat. Of considering reactionary thought to be a salacious and taboo in a world descending into reactionary mania.

Give me your MOST woke opinions. We're bringing it back.

This isn't pie-in-the-sky stuff; it's a doable thing that needs doing.
Being a realist - ie being accepting of current reality - is the road to destruction. Being an idealist - ie seeking the best for everyone - is the only REALISTIC way out of our crises.

Read a thread about lottocracy
I love the way Helene Landemore puts it: that we have assumed that representation happens best via transfer of authority via consent. But consent, in the real world, is a process that is highly manipulable, and highly controllable through $$$. Randomness gets us real representation.

If lottocracy is an imperfect "living photograph", land use meetings are Picasso's Guernica.

Would rectifying representative biases via lottocracy resolve the horror of land use meetings? Or is this an area where participation always leads astray?
