I first heard Leonard Bernstein's Norton Lectures in Langtoft at my grandparents house. It was the most amazing thing I had ever heard. He started with music phonology and moved all the way to Schoenberg. I was 13. I started playing flute quite some time later but was a bass player way before that.

Small Red-eyed Damselfly. I am old enough to remember when they used to be very scarce dragonflies in Peterborough and its environs (first found in 2006 in P'boro. I think). Now, we live in a different age. This was one of many on one of the pits of the Baston & Langtoft pits complex, S Lincs.

A smart looking Volvo B7TL/Wright Eclipse Gemini in Spalding Bus Station earlier this week. SN56 AEO is now with Coach of Langtoft but previously operated with Leicestershire operator G H Watts. It was new to Lothian Buses.

Unbelievably, I saw a 2nd Red-footed Falcon at Baston / Langtoft Pits today, that’s 2 birds in 2 days, unless it’s the same bird.. there are a few about, but this bird is close to the Baston Fen bird. Not quite as good views as yesterday, pic from digiscoped video. #lincsbirding
