A few years ticks at Titchwell this afternoon. Slav Grebe distance and diving like mad, but this female Scaup was close in. Male Shoveler,
2nd pic. As normal, Water Pipit eluded me. #norfolkbirding #ducks #ukbirding #birds #birdsseenin2026

Knot, close in shore, this morning. Unusual to see this plumage in Feb? Just missed a Merlin before this too. #lincsbirding #ukbirding #birdsseenin2026 #knot #birds

The Cackling Goose, of probable Dutch feral origin, on the east coast this morning. Nice to see, whatever the provenance. #lincsbirding #birdsseenin2026 #ukbirding #birds #cacklinggoose

Some of the White-fronted Geese near Elm House Farm at Saltfleetby yesterday. One bird appeared injured and was hopping. #lincsbirding

Failed 2 weeks running to add a new bird to my Lincs list, despite the opportunities. Had the most White-fronts I’ve ever seen today though & Grey Wag & GN Diver were NFY. I would have preferred an 8hr round trip for a Baikal Teal though! Nice to meet @robstevenson.bsky.social too.

Another one if the Great-tailed Grackle… looking certifiably crazy. #birds #ukbirding #grackle #birdsseenin2026 #untickable

It may be ‘untickable’ but this bird was the most entertaining of the day for me (& I’ve seen a wild one in Mexico). Astonishing sounds it was producing, including what I’m sure was a shutter on a camera. No surprise - this bird oozed charisma. #birds #ukbirding #untickable #grackle #birdsseenin2026

Got the Killdeer today, with a juv WTE flyover & Little Gull & then the Grackle. If I knew what the return journey was going to be like, I wouldn’t have gone. Full of flu, a splitting earache & shivering made the drive home the worst I’ve ever done. Still.. Killdeer, eh? #ukbirds #birds #killdeer

The plan this morning was to go for the Killdeer, but I changed my mind. Full of cold and a 8+hr round trip wasn’t enticing at 3am. However, tomorrow morning…
Finally, a Lincs Firecrest! 3rd attempt to get this. Also called in for the RNP. #lincsbirding #107 of year, #209 for Lincs.

Never managed to see an aurora before, but managed to get a bit of green after a 5 minute drive tonight. #aurora

Failed on the Red-breasted Merganser this morning at Deeping Lakes. Goosander left almost as soon as I arrived before first flight & I couldn’t pick it out. 4 Bewick’s, 7 Snipe, a Pintail & I’m told, by spotter @justwildimages.bsky.social, the first Jan Blackwit record for the site! #lincsbirding

Great Grey Shrike at Ingham was bird #100 of the year. Nice Jay fly over was #99 on the way through Cammeringham. Too distant and wet for any pics or footage. #lincsbirding
