No joke, BATMAN: ARKHAM KNIGHT ignited my comic book obsession. I read comic books before but after finishing the game I started to delve deeper into BATMAN lore, then DC in general, then a little of the Marvel classics, and finally the indies. This game is responsible for my need for more shelves.

Lillard is beloved by people but hasn't had a "big breakthrough success" or really been given the respect he deserves. He's in genre films or indies.

Indies are great and should be supported. Also, sometimes I'd like to play a game starring Batman or a Jedi or some shit that you're not going to get in an indie game. It's not a catch all solution.

I just miss a media landscape that had room for nimble indies to riff on popular trends, and where the slower blockbuster cycle forced fans to seek out original material - even if it was cheap and janky - to get their fix. That was a healthy ecosystem and it's completely gone now.

There are so many possibilities for cool DC games, especially if they were willing to partner with smaller studios or indies.

Don't own that one. And to be honest, I tend to read mainly indies these days & very little of the big 2. Hell, I tried Batman by one of my favourite writers working today, and the first 2 volumes were great, but then TWO!!! FUCKING EVENTS in the middle of the run just ruined the whole experience
