Does no one else see hemochromatosis?

Also: HEMOCHROMATOSIS doesn't mean that you can't drink alcohol. Unless you aren't controlling your disease. OTOH, I can't think of a better example of a twat who is completely out of control.

In the middle of a hellacious flare. Haven’t needed the shower chair in years. That’s how bad it is. Missed labs today. Cancelled dentist and canceling hematology oncology appointment because I feel like death.

A liter of blood is a hearty post-workout snack. 80g of protein and 800 calories of raw energy. Just watch out for hemochromatosis if you haven’t yet fully become the scourge of life, only spoken of in frighten whispers for fear of inviting you in.

Nancy Mace was like "I didn't make my staff bring me tequila at 2:00 a.m., I have a genetic condition that makes it so I can't drink much" but then it turns out that hemochromatosis is somewhat common in people of Irish descent

#NancyMace claims to have Hemochromatosis, a genetic condition that doesn't allow you to drink alcohol without suffering dire consequences including organ failure. Except, oops, Nancy likes the sauce. This woman is certifiably nuts and a hateful, pathological liar.

The father of my children had haemochromatosis - undiagnosed until he went into liver failure. He received a transplant, but died from complications five years later. His dad was Scottish and his mum was Welsh. This condition is far more common - and far more dangerous - than many realise 💔
Haemochromatosis: the iron overload condition that too often goes undiagnosed
The condition has been nicknamed the ‘Celtic curse’ because it disproportionately affects people of Celtic ancestry.

I’m not sharing this because anyone cares about Mace.
I’m sharing it because I also have #hemochromatosis.
I drink zero alcohol, eat no meat, have to limit intake of certain iron-rich veggies, am often frustrated that iron is added to pastas, cereals etc, & I donate blood.

A former staffer of the GOP lawmaker called her denial of the allegations the “most brazen lie she's told to date.”

Loved her "hemochromatosis b.s." Her assertion that you can't drink if you have it is totally false. It's treated by tapping you for a pint of blood every x weeks, to decrease your iron levels and prevent liver damage.

The word of the day is "hemochromatosis." Do your own research and then post if you truly believe that "somebody" has tried to use this condition for illicit purposes. To be clear, I'm not a doctor or any other kind of medical professional and have never seen anyone claiming to have this condition.

i too have HEMOCHROMATOSIS & while i'm a teetotaller at no point in my treatment has alcohol use been raised as an issue. Hemo is a genetic condition but when i was diagnosed 30+ years ago the theory was only alcoholics could get it, hence it took 2 years before they did the test on me.she's lying

Hemochromatosis is a condition where the body absorbs and stores too much iron, which can lead to damage in organs like the liver, heart, and pancreas. It can be hereditary or caused by other medical conditions, and treatment often involves regular blood removal to lower iron levels
just noting that notorious pee drinker todd starnes apparently has a show on "newsmax2"

Nancy Mace: "I had to come out with a genetic condition I've had all my life. I'm not allowed to drink or consume much in the way of alcohol. It's called hemochromatosis. If you do, it'll destroy your organs and you'll die at an early age, and I love life."
February 5, 2026 at 2:12 AM
That's not at all what hemochromatosis is.
February 4, 2026 at 10:10 PM
She stated her hemochromatosis is genetic (primary) but it can also be secondary hemochromatosis. Regular alcohol use can lead to injury of the liver cells and can intensify iron overload. Considering what staff has said about her alcohol use and how much Mace lies, it may be related to the alcohol.

Also, I have hemochromatosis. You can drink moderately, with no issue. EVERYONE damages organs if they over indulge.

Very simple to control. You give a pint of blood (which can be donated) once every 3 months. That’s it.

All Mace does is lie like trump.

I have hemochromatosis and this is what we call a lie

That's not how hemochromatosis works. It'll destroy your organs... *if you leave it untreated for decades*. Treatment is as simple as giving blood regularly (and often, people who menstruate don't even need to do that much.)

It doesn't impact your liver function at all if treated.

"hemochromatosis", I don't think it means what you think it means.

I was diagnosed with hemochromatosis many years ago, it's also known as iron overload disease. The treatment is regular phlebotomies, if you don't get them organ failure can result. So Mace is lying and most likely eschewing treatment.
February 4, 2026 at 5:02 PM
Hemochromatosis can develop because of excessive alcohol consumption. My father was an alcoholic and developed this from drinking. He had to get his blood drawn and destroyed all the time.
February 4, 2026 at 4:35 PM
It's not always hereditary. Secondary hemochromatosis can be caused by chronic liver disease (which can occur from Hep B & C, from OD-ing on NSAIDs, MASLD/MASH, from extreme alcohol consumption, blocked bile ducts, etc. as well). Just saying.
