My 9" gyuto ended up being too big for my little kitchen counter space, but my 7" santoku is just about the right size. I have been thinking about a nakiri since I rarely cook meat at home.

Just to demonstrate, I decided to weigh my Wusthof Classic 8'' chef's and my Kurosaki 210mm gyuto. The Wusthof weighs in at 249 grams. The Kurosaki is 144 grams.

That could be a BIG difference in fatigue and strain.

I have a santuko and an oversized bunka that mimics a gyuto function wise😂 love them both. Santuko is great for multi-purpose, it was my first real knife. It's my baaaaaby.

I have my eyes on a v beautiful Nakiri much to Stacey's dismay 😂

Im thinking of picking up a Japanese gyuto and gifting my mac santoku to my roommate who's rocking an ancient set of cutco knives even i can't sharpen to an adequate level anymore
