#gyotaku
I'm not sure why this is being done in an episode about an *owl* of all things, but the Rocket motto is them basically making a human "gyotaku" out of Satoshi.

On the 20th day of #Fishmas an oilpaint on fabric gyotaku of a Beryx splendens.
Still stuck more than 5 years later on the signature (and it could do with some ironing)

Bugün öğrendiğim şeyin güzelliği. Gyotaku sanatı. Japon balıkçılar eskiden yakaladıkları balıkları kayıt altına almak için boyayıp baskısını alıyorlarmış. Sonra sanata dönüşmüş.

#Fishmas day 5: gyotaku of a Notopogon sp.
This one was made on a molded specimen, so the orientation is wrong, standard should be head to the left.

is the traditional Japanese method of printing fish, a practice which dates back to the mid-1800s.

Ich kenn nur Gyotaku (iss aber janz was anderes ;-)

Ich trinke hauptsächlich Schwarztee, aber gelegentlich auch grünen Sencha. Lässt du deinen auch bei etwa 70° ziehen?

Relatively speaking, maybe only a few months. I started Gyotaku about a year ago but didn’t quite evolve it until a few months later. When I started to press the fish against paper, I began to paint out my own kanji and that’s when it started. Now I think I do more kanji than fish pressing.
