Amazing abundance of basil in my garden! End of November, doesn't look like it'll be getting cold enough to freeze it any time soon...thanks for the pesto, climate change!

Today on the allotment, I mostly sweated and admired my herbs. Here's a selection:
Anise hissop, two kinds of mint, and marjoram. Or maybe oregano. Nobody knows, it's seeding itself around the allotment, and who am I to stop it?

Basil has fast-growing thin and branching out root system.
It’s fascinating to observe the root system.

And yeah, the basils has outgrown my consumption lol

My sister in law sent me a picture of her large basil plant beginning to bloom and asked me why it was starting to flower!

I harvested basil four or five days ago cause they were blocking the light for others, and put these cuttings in the water to keep them fresh for cooking.

One of the cuttings is rooting like crazy.
What can I do besides planting it? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Growing scallions from the food scraps #2 (19d later):

✨ The tallest one has now grown to 32 cm (12.5")! ✨

Picture before I harvest a scallion for cooking!
And hopefully, there will be pups growing in the future!

Growing scallions from the food scraps #1:

I heard scallion can be growing in water (hydroponics) for long term. So I started with grouped them with a rubber band and leave them in water. I changed water every other day.
The leaves growing never stopped!

My first time growing parsley from seeds, so I am not sure what the parsley seeding looks like.
But there is a traitor for sure!

Basil vs. Parsley
……And I sowed them on the same day!
I thought more parsley seedlings would come out after the first one, but it has been four days already.
Debating whether or not to sow more parsley seeds.

So pleased to discover that this year my French Tarragon plants have new shoots. This is the first time I’ve had plants which have survived the Winter. @pepperpotherbs.bsky.social say they can survive in UK if kept dry and I mixed about 50% potting grit in with my peat free compost. #growingherbs
