“Are you a communist?”
“No I am an anti-fascist”
“For a long time?”
“Since I have understood fascism.”
– Ernest Hemingway, For Whom the Bell Tolls

Not gonna lie, I kind of want to put a pickle or fermentation experiment on the back of the shlelves in the walk in kitchen at work and see how long it takes someone to notice.

I wonder if Obama remembers the bad immigration bills that got passed while he was President or that the militarization of police depts. happened in those years ass well.

Nice to have a morning where the most serious decision I have to make is whether to make more coffee or not.

It will be slightly warmer today, but not in a way you'd actually be able to tell the difference.

I have decided that I need to do more with all the negativity and hostility I see in the world, and if nothing else, openly demonstrate to people, whether friend or stranger, that that is not who I am.

With all the misinformation out there it seems internet data forensics is going to be a career in the near future.

I wish they would stop saying it's ICE vs protestors in Minneapolis. It's ICE vs. normal people they've decided to assault and harass.

Made really good spaghetti last night and wish I could do a demo for people to show the taste difference from seasoning the meat first or season after the sauce is added.

Other people might feel the weather change in their joints, I get to feel it in my sinuses. Ugh.

The events in Minneapolis today tell me it's past time to Disarm and Detain all Ice Agents. Don't let them just take their masks off and disappear.

Isn't it great when you get an automated late payment message for something you already paid. Ahh, technology.

Leftovers turned into soup tonight - For soup you don't really need a recipe, it's like jazz, once you know all the fundamentals you know how you can improvise. Leftover spareribs, hoppin' john, greens, with beef stock, garlic, onion, celery and carrot.

Delighted to not be scheduled to work New Years Eve or Day. Plans? Absolutely nothing except sitting around.

The youtube playlist feature keeps trying to put songs together for me, which only sometimes works. The repeater spanning all genres of music- it tries to add Africa by Toto to almost every playlist. The algorithm must see it as a nexus point.

I see all these hard seltzer drinks in cans - if it was my bar I'd have a dedicated seltzer line with the sodas, then add flavors. Seems like that would be easier.

Food thought: think it's time to retire Tuscan as an adjective to describe a dish, it's clearly over and misused as a term.

Some of the waitstaff at work were talking about scars they have and it made my 47 - year old self laugh. Sorry kids, the middle aged people at work win the scars contest.
