Today, Parliament hosted a blood donation drive for MPs and staff.

It was brilliant to see so many people rolling up their sleeves to donate and save lives.

Thank you to the Commons and Lords Speakers for organising. Hoping this becomes a regular fixture!

I donated platelets again & it was great, while I was lying there with my feet up eating biscuits and drinking juice, to think, "it's this easy to save a life".

And it is easy. A sharp scratch, you lie there and you save a life.
