You should watch Freejack with Emilio Estevez. People you describe would hate it for the way its technology veers away from how 2009 actually was. I can see them all cringing in unison.
It's actually an interesting movie with a real message though.

Ever see "Freejack"? The film where Anthony Hopkins hires Mick Jagger to steal Emilio Estevez's body so he can seduce Julie Redlund into loving him? No? Anyway, there's a nun played by Amanda Plummer that has a shotgun and that inspired this. Kind of a core memory for some reason.

Not a classic. Not even especially good. Just lean, disposable sci-fi action.
And somehow Mick Jagger is in it. He does his job pretty well.
