My original UBI article seems to have been pretty popular, so I made a robust sequel that addresses some potential concerns and offers solutions and mitigation strategies.

We really do need UBI more than ever before. Read this article. It shows all the ways we cannot afford to prevent UBI from becoming a thing as well as how we actually pay for it, and many of its downstream benefits:

"What struck me most was how they've turned the right-wing argument about UBI on its head. Rather than disincentivising work, as critics claim, they show that UBI actually removes perverse disincentives in the current system. It eliminates the fear of losing benefits…"

Whether in 2026 or 2028, there will be a reckoning. Even if Trump gave a mass pardon (he would have to use an autopen to pardon 21K agents) there would still be civil action open to the folks who were harmed. 🗽

If the House Republicans had any guts, they'd hold an emergency impeachment vote on Trump today.
If the Senate Republicans had any guts, they'd convict Trump of violating the Constitution tomorrow.
The Constitution means nothing it if it can be ignored with impunity.

Let me get this straight, the regime attacks and kidnaps Venezuelans in our country and deports them with no due process.

Then goes to Venezuela and kidnaps Venezuelans and brings them here for a trial?

WTAF is this insanity.

I remember the lead up to the Iraq war and being frustrated with people conflating Saddam and 9/11. But at least thought that after 20 years of that we’d at least not do it again.

And yet here we are with again with Fentanyl deaths used to justify a war with Venezuela which doesn’t make fentanyl.

When America abdicates its role as a defender of freedom and becomes the oppressor, it emboldens dictators everywhere.

We are about to learn some hard lessons.

One being how instrumental we used to be at preventing the world from descending into madness.

Marco Rubio is reportedly saying Maduro will stand trial in US courts.

Which means it’s now the US administration’s position that US courts can hold foreign presidents, but not the US president, accountable for crimes.

UBI flips the model: stabilize the base, let money circulate upward, tax with equity

I wrote a full argument for UBI that aims to restore dignity to the nation and its people.
