I worry about the people of Jamaica dealing with Hurricane #Melissa.
But I detest #DisasterPorn.
All these TV stations have sent (disposable?) reporters and camera crews so we can wring our hands at the images.

The #WeatherChannel and their obsession with #DisasterPorn is really telling this morning. The #Katrina coverage is annoying AF. I just want the weather. Life in the US sucks ass right now. I don't need constant video of the disaster when #POTUS is destroying the USA daily.

There's been a tornado emergency and PDS warnings for a tornado on the ground NE of Nyman, IA and none of the US networks seem to be covering it. Maybe 2 in the area.
I am consistently shocked that US news, other than hyper-local channels, do not cover severe weather until AFTER.

Honestly, the way some* commercial TV networks are covering the #DisasterPorn that *was* #TCAlfred and its effects on the Gold Coast you’d think it had become a self-funded retiree and bought a unit at Surfers Paradise and was itself complaining about storm-fuelled beach erosion.
