Wonderful. Donotcall.gov is down due to the government shutdown. Republicans are thrilled by this.

I hoped never to see concentration camps like the ones I grew up in appear again in this country. Reading this breaks my heart.

@daringfireball.bsky.social I didn’t get a wallet notification of the F1 movie. I got it in my iPhone TV app. Which is so annoying since I’m already seeing the stupid ads for a movie I’m not going to see in a theater before I watch anything on AppleTV+

Just used my NACS adapter to plug my Hyundai Kona EV to a SuperCharger. Will be used as a backup on longer trips if other chargers aren’t readily available.

Should I unsubscribe from political text spam that I receive? Or should I sign the sending phone number up for opportunities for time shares, car insurance info, or the opposite party?

Have seen a lot of Harvard commencements.

Usually the Harvard prez is greeted by brief pro-forma applause. Or nothing. Or in my era, waves of protests and boos.

Never heard of *anything* like the sustained standing ovation Alan Garber got today.

Deserved.

I've canceled my Paramount+ annual subscription. "You caved to the Trump administration so you could get a merger that no one wants except you. If you stood behind your journalism, you'd fight for the Truth. I don't want support you by giving you money that you will turn around and give to Trump."

I know I will not be able to watch ‘The West Wing’ again for a long time. So I watched ‘The American President’ which is only 30 years old, yet feels so quaint and innocent it could have been 100 years old.

I’m pretty sure that a Jehovah Witness calling my cell phone and leaving a voice mail message over 1:20 is at the very minimum rude. At least I have another number to give out to Republicans when they need a phone number.

@letterboxd.social What's the deal with the weird sized Google Ads on the site now? They are covering content so you can't interact with your site. Yesterday one covered the Review or Log link. Just started happening a couple weeks ago. letterboxd.com/planetmike/

I learned that "Australia is among the few countries where voting is compulsory, a system that leans toward creating centrist governments." Mandatory? How would that even work? What's the penalty if you don't vote? The penalty in the USA is you get a felon as president.

I’m really annoyed that I had to talk to an AI agent to get my EV’s service scheduled at my local Hyundai dealer. And then the AI couldn’t do it, so I have to wait for a call back.
