If trains were sparse, buses and aircraft were even fewer and further between. Nevertheless, a few examples found my camera, scattered across the country. (9b/12)
English Electric Lightning XM192 on display at Thorpe Camp visitor park, Tattershall. Note the jagged cut along the base of the vertical stabiliser where the aircraft was roughly dismantled for transport when she was first preserved. Lincoln is one of the last places where Dennis Darts can be found on regular stage-carriage services; here is W111BCT 'Phoenix', formerly WA54JWD with Plymouth Citybus. Who doesn't love a Mechanical Horse? The Scammell Scarab followed on from the original 1930s-era Mechanical Horse, but kept the adorable moniker. They're one thing that's sure to cheer me up any day of the week! M133FGD is a fairly rare "short" Volvo B10M-48 with Van Hool Alizée T8 bodywork; it's seen here in the colours of Orion Travel of Longsight, although it now serves as a workman's bothy here in Bury.

Who remembers, back in the 1990s, when route 19’s AEC Routemasters appeared in a cream and maroon livery after London Transport contracted the service to Kentish Bus, giving them the freedom to paint their buses in any colour?
London Transport News clipping from December 17, 1992, No. 413, with two articles. The main headline is "RM route goes to Kentish Bus." The first article details London Transport awarding the Route 19 contract (a crew-operated Routemaster route) to Kentish Bus for three years, starting the following spring, after competitive tendering. The service pattern remains unchanged, but Routemasters will be leased to Kentish Bus and painted in their maroon and cream livery. The route runs between Finsbury Park and Battersea, currently terminating at Chelsea due to the closure of Battersea Bridge. The second article mentions that Kentish Bus route 227 was chosen as London's favourite bus route in a competition organised by the London Regional Passengers Committee, winning £1,000 and a trophy. A full-frame, colour photograph of the front of a refurbished Routemaster bus (registration JJD 574D) in Kentish Bus maroon and cream livery. The bus has destination blinds showing Route 19 and the main destination "BATTERSEA BRIDGE SOUTH SIDE". The intermediate destinations listed are Highbury, Islington, Piccadilly, Sloane Sq, and Kings Road. A caption beneath the image reads: "A FLEET of 20 refurbished Routemasters takes to the road on April 24 in maroon and cream livery on Kentish Bus's new route 19 – the first crewed service put out to competitive tender by LT. Below, the headline "Green light for maroon Routemasters" introduces an article detailing 24 maroon and cream Routemaster RMLs now operating on Route 19 (Finsbury Park to Battersea via Islington, Piccadilly, etc.) by Kentish Bus. This marks the first time Routemasters have been used by an independent operator in the capital. Kentish Bus won the three-year contract after a competitive tendering process. Buses are a menace, or something. CityBus in Lafayette has cut Sunday service entirely since Purdue decided to privatize, but apparently that’s just indicative of the Next Steps on cutting our way to prosperity. 💯 👍 🏅 🚂

In response to the crash, Citybus expressed sympathy for those impacted and stated that staff were assisting passengers both at the scene and in hospitals. Traffic congestion ensued in the area due to the accident, leading authorities to close part of Cheong Hong Road near Terminal 1's drop-off

I hope RapidKuantan could at least host a send-off ceremony, much like how First Bus in Hong Kong did for its last day of ops:
