I’ve just read the judgment… the courts, both at first instance and on appeal, gave virtually no reasons beyond criticising the Cafcass officer for not doing her job and speculating that the child might prefer the surname. wtf?
The courts are forcing a 6 year old girl to keep the name of the man who raped her mother.
No survivor should face harm from the very system that is meant to protect them. No child should have to carry an abuser’s name.

If you're going to go for the judges also look at the CAFCASS eejits - the last one I had the displeasure of being in court with tried to see my client alone and browbeat her into withdrawing her allegations of bullying and abuse... :( There was definitely something wrong with these people.

Yes because Cafcass listen to the voice of the child, instead of looking for signs of psychological control. The believed her when she said her mother was a threat and her father/step mother were not. The issue is family courts lack the right assessments, professionals & treatment plans.

Cafcass involved due to what his application for 50% custody, and their report thankfully was in my daughter's favour, and they're closing file. But waiting on result of hearing. Its honestly so stressful right now, daughter barely functioning. I don't want to put too much on here obviously

And Cafcass assessed my emails as Extremely Concerning and Emotional Harm to my children. Should I forward those stolen email to you?

As a victim of family court and cafcass, for 8 years, I cannot agree more with this. The trauma is extreme and it was for my son. We are trying to rebuild and recover. It was nothing short of horrific. The damage to my son’s development is immutable.
