Alex Pearson and Indiya Kainth visited Support Through Court, a charity that helps litigants in person, offering guidance on court processes and practical support throughout their case. They gained valuable exposure to Family matters here as volunteers which sparked their passion for Family Law.

We represented two children in complex adoption proceedings which concluded with the court determining that it was in the children’s best interests to be adopted, despite the progress made by their birth mother since the earlier Care and Placement orders were made.

We represented a child facing multiple serious charges. Following our representations, our client was granted bail and the offences of kidnap, coercive and controlling behaviour, threats to kill and malicious communications on evidential grounds were discontinued.

We recently achieved a hard-won success, obtaining a discharge from Westminster Magistrates’ Court under the Extradition Act 2003, on the basis that extradition would be incompatible with our client’s Convention rights. Our client was represented by Kate Nichol.

Our Family team in Birmingham had a fantastic night at Legal Eagles Quiz Night yesterday! The event brought together over 120 legal professionals for an evening of trivia and fundraising.

Our team finished in the top 10 and were the fastest to answer on multiple occasions. Go team!

We were instructed by a migrant, single mother in 2022 due to the unsuitability of her temporary accommodation. After years of our client persisting with her fight for suitable housing, she has finally moved into suitable council housing with her young daughter.

Leo Barber, 16, died on 28 November 2023. The inquest found that clinicians missed a key opportunity to conduct a risk assessment following an incident the week before his death, which would have meant Leo probably wouldn’t have died when he did.
