The bungalow dolls house Dad made for my sister in c1975. He built it, painted it, wall-papered it, carpeted it, and furnished it. The Lego people were its first inhabitants but my parents soon bought appropriate sized dolls for my sister.

I can’t speak authoritatively on them, just did a bit of research a long time ago for my Master’s (a church allegedly used as a cillín until c1975) but they aren’t a sign that people didn’t grieve lost babies or feel sad.
There was high infant mortality, but it doesn’t mean people didn’t grieve!

Our buyers’ solicitor asked for evidence of permission to take down the dividing wall between sitting and dining room (done c1975 like millions of other houses). We said we didn’t have it. The solicitors stood off for a bit and then everyone just kinda moved on. I assume that happens every time.
