Very (!) late with this #BirdOfTheDay post on the theme of #Serenity. Two Mute Swans (Cygnus olor) floating past red foliage at the @nationaltrust.org.uk's Georgian gardens in Stowe.
Slightly to the right of centre two large shite birds with orange beaks are swimming from right to left. The backdrop is mostly red foliage which is reflected on the surface of the water.

A Mourning Dove closes its eyes before finding a place at the seed feeder this afternoon. The closed blue eyelid makes it look quite peaceful and serene.

Mourning Doves have a subtle coloration of buffs and browns with black spots on their wings and black wing tips. The bill is black and the feet are pink. They have a melodious call of coo-OO-oo which is highest in the middle.
