I'm in the real world, talking to people at work. People are out of touch with one another. We have antivaxer anarchists & fascist statists &skeptical centrists& queer liberationists & populists, all in the same town/work. Based on what they consume at home, vastly different perceptions of reality.

If the argument they aren't "antivaxer beliefs" is a mischaracterization proffered by the parents rationalizing their antivax beliefs, a small correction can fix this problem.
Just note that parents *erroneously* think their antivax beliefs are not, negatively affecting their risk assessments. 2/2

I understand the article explains parents' own reasoning, but I take issue with article classifying this subset of antivaxer beliefs as "not antivaxer beliefs". It implies the logic may be more sound than other rationalizations, esp when combined w/ factual claim that vax takes resources/time. 1/2

like if your MP does an absolute heel turn into say a white nationalist great replacement theory flat earth antivaxer out of nowhere it does feel like there should be a way for the constituents to go "um... wait a sec." and hold a recall vote which if successful triggers a by-election or something.

It's become almost like a team sport, and I'm reminded of the antivaxer discussions. Probably largely the same people, with Norman Fenton being one of the first Truthers out of the traps.

She thinks he's a bad person. WTF? Then it became apparent she is an antivaxer. She hasn't vaccinated her 2 year old because of the other ingredients. She tried to tell me the tetanus vaccine I got 10 years ago was different than the one I got last month. It wasn't. She probably has a HS education.
