Dw and I watched the 3 knives out movies. I enjoyed them but what the fuck is up with the lighting? Many of the indoors scenes look like they were 90s greenscreen?

All of these news articles repeating the Grok “apology” aren’t just bad framing—they aren’t even news stories as much as technology fantasy speculative fiction stories that imagine a reality in which no human can be held responsible for creating and operating a CSAM-generating computer program.
This is a thread of major media outlets falsely anthropomorphising the "Grok" chatbot program and in doing so, actively and directly removing responsibility and accountability from individual people working at X who created a child pornography generator (Elon Musk, Nikita Bier etc)

I would really like to be better. The fact that I was sick during my entire time off work as an end to 2025 is a pretty good summation of the year.

Starting 2026 still sick

That is because LLMs are predictive text engines. That’s it. They cannot replace human search experts,

Having just enrolled my kid in preschool- this isn't how it works. You don't show up and get let in. You put in your application, get on the waiting list, then when there's an opening, get a call to schedule a tour.
When Nick Shirley arrived to "test" if he could enroll his son "Joey" in Minneapolis day cares, his viral video omitted that he showed up with an entourage of masked men acting like security, multiple vehicles including vans, cameras, and men who wouldn't identify themselves. One day care owner /

10 years ago, my sibs and i were at Mom and Dad's. Odd conversations with Mom pushed us to talk to Dad about her memory. She was 57. Early onset dementia has a typical lifespan of 4-7 years. I have no idea if she is reacting to us when we video call with her and Dad. There is no goodbye.

When the people selling it are telling you they won’t stop without legislation forcing them to stop, that’s when you bring this quote to your lawmakers —as a parent.
"Pressed on whether marketing an addictive AI chatbot to kids is ethical, Hardin shrugged: “I mean sure, but that’s not really our problem. That’s something parents or maybe lawmakers might want to look into.”

Kids in college now have probably had a computer for school work since early elementary. They didn't handwrite hs assignments, everything was google classroom or "personalized learn through testing" apps. If course they're freaking out because they need to suddenly learn to write quick and legible.
Does anyone else bristle at this framing? WSJ says blue books are “torturing” students with hand cramps, and “nobody likes them.”

Listen, students have been outsourcing everything to AI and cheating their way through college. Blue books should be celebrated as a return to authentic human learning.
They Were Every Student’s Worst Nightmare. Now Blue Books Are Back.

The point was never to save money. That was only ever a convenient justification for an effort to decimate the public sector and dismantle the US social safety net.
On DOGE’s watch, federal spending did not go down at all. It went up. But is still led to cuts that closed offices, canceled programs and deprived people of food, medicine and other aid.

Americans & Europeans needlessly exposing African babies to preventable diseases just to see if they can find something that would justify their preexisting antivaccine beliefs is not only unscientific and actually anti-science, it is very much reminiscent of colonialist, racist human rights abuses
“It is not clear what the research question is. It seems to be about the safety of the vaccine rather than its effectiveness, but both are already well-established, and to undertake such a study in a population where almost 1/5 of the adult population has a marker of infection seems extremely risky”
