I'm convinced this is linked to the leaked report the other day (denied by H H S) that the COVID-19 vaccines are about to be pulled off the market, and these people quite sensibly want no part of being associated with such an antiscience, antihealth position.
I'd add that even things that seem to superficially make sense (e.g. addressing "chronic disease"), when you consider what's likely under Trump admin — shredding environmental regulations, degrading healthcare access, etc., it's weak sauce - or smokescreen for a derguolatory, antihealth agenda.
