#Tyrannosauridae
Mmm, I wonder how age estimates across Tyrannosauridae would be affected, I remember reading the largest Dry Island Albertosaurus elements to be estimated as belonging to a ~30 year old specimen, but I also heard hearsay about a ~50 year old tarbosaur... Exciting how everything changed these months!

Oh boy we're talking about dinosaurs huh lol

Kairon's favorite would be tarbosaurus or sinosauropteryx. One is a big, scary member of the tyrannosauridae family and the other is a cute lil guy
Fuck it. Silly question for folks

What would your WoL(s)/OC(s) favorite dinosaur be?

Hidden in the modern world is a secret society of weredinosaurs, humans who can take dinosaur forms under the light of the moon. A conflict between Gens Ceratopsidae and Gens Tyrannosauridae threatens to expose their secret existence to the world.

Better late than never to join the #BackInHell train.

My drawing of Nanotyrannus, whose return to life makes Hell Creek ever more fascinating. Since it seemingly falls outside tyrannosauridae, I've given it a feathery coat to reflect its slightly more basal position

🦖 Daily Paleo 🦖; Nanotyrannus lethaeus

From Late Cretaceous Hell Creek Formation, "Lethe Pygmy Tyrant" is the second species in the valid Nanotyrannus genus?? 🤯 It sits just outside tyrannosauridae and sports proportionally longer forelimbs than T.rex, with a vestigial 3rd digit

Today is the 120th anniversary of the description of #Tyrannosaurus rex and #Albertosaurus sarcophagus in 1905 by Henry Fairfield Osborn, the two species that would define the clade, Tyrannosauridae. A pair of dinosaur teeth, albeit very worn, belonging to these two famous species. 🧪

Despite this lumbering beast being one of the larger herbivores of the Late Cretaceous, it had to remain ever vigilant against the Tyrannosauridae of that period, as well as other fearsome predators.

There is only one known species of the genus Tyrannosaurus, and that is the famous Tyrannosaurus rex. But there are many related creatures in the family Tyrannosauridae which can all be called Tyrannosaurs.

Thus Tyrannosaur ≠ Tyrannosaurus in the same way Rectangle ≠ square

Of course i think there'd be a lot of diversity between the clades, and also a lot of overlap, but i think its safe to assume that large active predators like most dromeosauridae and tyrannosauridae would have reared their young.

Which means a baby probably looked SO fucking ugly its GREAT

Mother has arrived! 🦖
This is my first attempt to recreate a T-rex, so it’s a little rough, I went a bit safe on this one, got a gap of 3 months on the process that put me a little off but, hey, at least I finished it!
