FWIW, VADM Correll (nominee to lead USSTRATCOM) a few days ago to SASC: "Neither China or Russia has conducted a nuclear explosive test, so I’m not reading anything into it or reading anything out. To my knowledge, the last explosive nuclear testing was by North Korea, or DPRK, and that was in 2017"

This is…not great… & not necessarily awful.

IF USA indicates it is moving to explosively test nuclear weapons then increases likelihood Russia &/or China, DPRK, Pakistan, or India start.

IF USA actually begins explosive nuclear explosive testing then probably *everybody* else will.

Other than DPRK (No. Korea) neither China nor Russia have tested a nuclear weapon since 1996.

Trump wants to restart the nuclear arms race.
It just keeps getting better.

Russia managed to lose 2 kg of enriched uranium. The contraband was catched in Georgia on the way to China (or perhaps to DPRK?).

First, the whodunnit.

The scenario is made possible by a certain amount of ambiguity as to whether the DPRK, PLA or Russia launched the initial missile, made possible by a failure of detection by an early warning satellite in a region in which all 3 nations share interests.

2/Zelensky replied that it was not the US president's fault:

"Russia has increased its capabilities - invested money, received aid from the DPRK, machine tools from China, licenses from Iran. This shows that Putin doesn't want to stop the war. He needs pressure and ultimatums"

I'd put Lenin at the top of the list, personally. Columbus could've been replaced fairly easily, but Lenin's takeover of Russia paved the way for an era of bloody-handed totalitarianism across much of the world that still hasn't entirely petered out (looks at China, Russia, and the DPRK).
Over drinks with fellow archaeologists at a conference some decades ago, we discussed who we would hypothetically time travel to remove from history. Columbus and Calvin were the two universally chosen. Hitler was nearly unanimous but one person thought removing Goebbles was better.
ALSO. ALSO. Needing us to find Europeans who condemned him for his actions at the time--and there are many! So many! My God so many!--is also some white supremacist bullshit, because the TAINO PEOPLE HE WAS MURDERING CERTAINLY CONDEMNED HIM FOR IT AND THEY WERE HUMAN BEINGS OF HIS TIME TOO.
