Wellington Covid-safe friends: just had a great visit at City Dentists, which runs air purifiers + HVE, and staff were in 3M respies. My dentist even commented at one point that Covid isn't "over." Heads-up that waiting room patients = not masked.

I’m one of the few left that still thinks it’s possible today… and could be achieved in a myriad of ways.
If we fix building ventilation first… have well matched vaccines… wear respies for a while… and if this gets R<1… which I think it might, esp in a partially immune population… who knows…

This is not a long C19 post. These ones have never tested positive and wear respies. I hope there is a good chance they are just having last week-itis.

True. When wearing a mask for long periods at home, comfort is important. Thats why I use flomask. Soft silicone seal. No irritating chemicals on my skin. Long wear possible.

I have a lot more hope if effective prevention is practiced, but sadly most do not know how to do this. I have seen too many seriously vulnerable patients in ill-fitting surgical masks instead of respies.

People have many reasons for wanting to take greater care with their health… and this family has also been let down… because they either don’t know how much better #respies are, or they couldn’t afford to get the supplies they need.

Very glad GenX grew up without internet & smartphones. I can leave mine home & still read a map, hike, etc. That’s going to be the only way (plus hats, glasses, respies).

Mine called people in from the carpark for a while - I think they still run filters, but they don't wear respies. I do (obviously) - and when I have to take my cats I wait outside until just before the appt.

In the wild just now: a solitary masked person wearing an earloop FFP2 respirator at the supermarket. We greeted her with thumbs up and smiles from behind our respies. It took her a moment to realize why strangers were so enthusiastic and then she smiled back.

I received the biggest smile of the year at the bus stop today. It was from someone I didn't know and we were both wearing respies. Respirator masks do not stop non verbal communication, far from it. 👁👁

I demand clean air in schools, hospitals and day care. I demand hospital and care workers wear respies until a sterilising free vaccine is available. Wash your hands and wear a well-fitting respirator and be kind.

Most people are amateurs masking. Testing for virus is often hit or miss. (Can't be sure). Many breathable respies on the market. Unecessary risk imo that makes me feel uncomfortable (sitting next to valved respirator wearer).

Attended my first con today with my kids. Katsucon. Absolute joy, artistry, creativity, kind people, fun people, encouraging people! And many wearing quality masks (respies). Really grateful for the experience.

Good news! Respies aren’t “political” anymore - neither side cares! So you can go ahead and get that respie and start wearing it before you waste your entire holiday season sick as hell again. I love my Elipse P100. Decorated it all sparkly & cheerful, & ppl only stop me to say how cute it is.
3/3 Will not list the 9 tests but 1 I asked if they knew of and could test respirators for women and children. Smoke hazards etc (We know respirators protect your health) Are there any good fitting respies esp. made for children of different ages and women w small faces in Sweden, at all in a shop?
