I like this one (Tjängvide), especially Odin's drunk driving (riding...), with a cup of mead in his left hand - and something of an attitude. Well, in my interpretation, at least.

Ships, warriors, and everyday life carved in stone—Tanum’s Bronze Age art is a time capsule you can still walk through. Here’s why UNESCO protects it and what to look for on a visit. #BronzeAge #Petroglyphs #Sweden #TanumRockCarvings #UNESCOWorldHeritage
What Are the Tanum Rock Carvings and Why Are They a UNESCO World Heritage Site?
The Tanum rock carvings are a dense concentration of Bronze Age petroglyphs in Bohuslän, western Sweden. They are a UNESCO World Heritage Site because they preserve thousands of images that document Scandinavian life and belief between roughly 1700 and 500 BCE. UNESCO inscribed the site in 1994 for its outstanding range, quality, and continuity of rock art motifs and scenes.

Today we completed multiple bingo squares but only one of them is a new scare. This involved going up a trail in a new location that had hills (our new square!) and patiently stopping while we checked out petroglyphs! @wholisticcaninesports.com #wcswalkingbingo #dogsofbluesky

I'm about to blow your mind. Do you know the "Grooving" meme, with the stick figure dancing? Well, it actually comes from a Bronze Age petroglyph, found in Tanum (Sweden)
There he is on the upper right corner!

Exactly what I thought of. Happened here too, Ontario and Manitoba. Petroglyphs destroyed by people, some angry about land access to what many people still refer to as “cottage country” as if we haven’t had a whole Truth and Reconciliation Commission in Canada.

Goes to show just what kind of people they were.

Like the jackholes defacing petroglyphs at national monuments.

Legend Rock: Rock Art in Hot Springs County, Wyoming. Legend Rock enables visitors to view over 300 petroglyphs spanning a time-period of thousands of years. Although some of the beautiful etchings have suffered from various forms of erosion and human defacement, the majority is well preserved.

What should we call Indigenous petroglyphs and pictographs? “Rock art,” or something else? A new American Antiquity article argues that while “rock art” became the dominant label in recent decades, it can be imprecise and unwelcome for some descendant communities.

Combining sections of four trails to make a loop, this trail takes you to the highest point in the Tuscon Mountains. Along the way you'll pass a small collection of petroglyphs, a small stone building, and abundant flora and fauna. With all of the elevation gain, the trail sports fantastic views.
