Human, cishet male, married to @rezmamakelly(who calls me a berry picker). Pronouns are he/him/his. Former professional paranoiac. MN Green party. GURPS for days.
Just had the kind of kitchen disaster that should have been set to music.

No injuries, no broken dishes, but a ton of spilled coffee and wasted time and towels.

I don't do these often, but this one merited some extra attention.

Somebody else knows how I feel about the Bluesky experience.
At any given moment there is exactly one (1) book or show these people have read or watched and we just have to wait it out until it changes.

Mood isn't just fragile, it's.. brittle.

Stressed right the hell out over packages delivering while I was across town and a phone call from Mom.

Think I need to acknowledge that I'm not OK.

Even when she's far away my wife has an eye out for things I might enjoy.
January 6, 2026 at 7:09 PM
Running on 3.5 hours of sleep today, so I am not at 100%.

Seems like everybody has their new year's rituals.

Mine used to be watching movies while Mom and Dad went out (Dad played a gig but Mom went with him) and I got to stay up until they came home.

Probably where my 2nd shift preference comes from.

Woke up to a charley horse and some improvised toilet repair.

Work today.. fun fun.

163 years ago today what could have been the mass execution of 303 was whittled down to the mass execution of 38 in Mankato, Minnesota.

Hundreds or more deaths and uncountable property damage because the federal government couldn't be bothered to follow the treaty they proposed and signed.

Not to spoil anything, but I really wish I had a copy of Rifts Dimension Book 1: Wyrmwood handy.

My wife got up way too early to crockpot ham for sandwiches and such today.

Merry Christmas, @rezmamakelly.bsky.social

Have to admit one of the best ways for a restaurant to draw my attention is to give out free meals at Christmas.

More so when they feed the people working at the store whose parking lot the restaurant is using to give out free meals.

A magic item for near modern/modern day/near-future games, based on a family heirloom.

An old suitcase, weighing just over 40 pounds (around 20kg), made of leather and steel, with a wrapped leather handle.

Inside are dozens, perhaps hundreds of photos of family members with names and dates.

BlueSkying before coffee remains contraindicated.

Got to the edge of tears seeing the Battletech collection and gameroom of a journalist I respect and had to forcibly stop myself from rewriting the Ren and Stimpy 'Log' jingle to use 'boob' instead of 'log'.

Home from work, daughter's here and I feel like I've been pulled through a knothole.

So I'm on book 3 of the Starsiders trilogy (David Gerrold finishing a book series?) and I'm realizing just how weak my skills are.

I'm getting just enough of the nods and mentions to understand that I'm missing several more.

Turns out stories about fighting other dogs over a deer carcass make for a great.. mm.. sales disruptor?

Turns out the USPS has powwow stamps showing some of the women's categories.

Didn't see jingle dress, though.

Maybe I've spent too much time trying to catch up with modern authors.

Reading The Iron Tower (first time, I am not well-versed in fantasy) and it's clear that I don't handle Gygaxian dialogue the way I used to.

(I know it's Tolkienesque but I call it Gygaxian anyway)

December on my Legends of the National Parks candidate.

Also a suitable candidate to replace the bald eagle as the iconic symbol of the United States of America since at least January 2010.

Hopefully I get a 2026 calendar for Christmas.

Watching something on Tubi.. Hide and Creep.

When you don't have the budget for big tracking shots or Tom Savini on makeup and FX, you push what you can do.. characters.

Slice of life, add zombies, stir.

Every now and then I can find something to get the houseguest's attention.
November 25, 2025 at 9:31 PM
Penske truck on the block, Indiana plates.

Wi-Fi isn't acting up yet.

Paranoia isn't as fun anymore.
November 24, 2025 at 6:34 PM
Onions, green pepper, carrots, celery (Mirepoix AND Holy Trinity), potatoes, peas, chopped bacon, blackened chicken sausage, chicken broth.

Crockpot is GO.

Sadly, I tripped a couple circuit breakers and killed my big Baby Yoda crockpot.

So I have something on my Christmas list now.

Overexertion at work and emotional strains today plus a footlong Turhamken with stuffing knocked me right the heck out.

That being said I approve of stuffing in a hot sandwich and I appreciate a tart cranberry sauce.

Back from Cub.

Egg prices seem stable at 1.99/dozen but oddly enough no-salt-added tomatoes are spendier.. 1.45 a can or so.

Resisted the houseguest's suggestion that I buy her 5 rotisserie chickens.. at 6 bucks each.
