But seriously... for us ladies, weight lifting is a good way to increase our bone density. Especially if you have a family history of Osteopenia or Osteoporosis. Menopause can do a number on our bones.

did a bone density text last week and i'm at osteopenia levels lmao i've been doing weights and had dairy for calcium for years and i still get royally fucked 😔 at least doing an infusion next month to help with that but man

Not sure how stable that would be with the computer monitor/keyboard. With the lad having osteopenia it has to be something he can adjust by himself without too much effort if that makes sense. Thank you for brainstorming though!

That’s good. I have the beginnings of osteopenia (precursor to osteoporosis) so I have had to start taking calcium with vit D and increase my weight bearing activities. I had my thyroid irradiated 15 years ago and bone loss is a big side affect of no thyroid function even though I am on meds.

So sorry to hear that. My husband had osteopenia before. Now it's osteoporosis. The cancer was in his bone marrow. Dr is recommending prolia because he has two lumbar fractures. The side effects sound scary, especially the possible problems with the jaw. Fractures or side effects. What a choice.

This resulted in my handlebars hitting the pole of the lights. My right hand was crushed. Literally. I have osteopenia, so my bones break easily. I broke bones, had to have my rings cut off due to swelling which cost a lot to get then repaired, and that pedestrian had no clue it even happened.

JFC a diagnosis like osteopenia is something you should never see in children that young. Or rickets, ever. Or vitamin D deficiency.

I have osteopenia. My bones are brittle. I ended up having my rings cut off my hand, which were expensive to repair. And the walker? They went off, totally unaware of what they did. People walking into traffic while reading their phones. Are a MAJOR menace!

So very true! I have been disabled for almost 26 years due to 6 cervical and 6 back surgeries, I have Heds, OI. Osteopenia just to name a few and just by looking at me, you can’t tell I am disabled.

I started eating dairy again after the tiny tot joined the household and I received an osteopenia dx. I have much regert and feel like I had more variety as a vegan!
