This is an amazing film and nobody will see it and not get emotional. It does NOT have anything at all to do with Trump. It’s the result of the defects our society in general. Please don’t sully the memory of the victims or the incredible work by the filmmakers by needlessly tying it to Trump.

Guns is an issue that screams for more direct democracy. Cause while we live with a bunch of fucking lunatics, there’s still plenty of people who support at least some measure of gun control more than the status quo. But because of our dumb, outdated system nothing happens and people die needlessly.

Empathy goes out the window when women die needlessly as they couldn't get the care they needed. She has 3 kids, some women refused abortions end up in ICU and may never have kids due to complications. Maybe our empathy is with those robbed of the chance of motherhood or no longer with us.

With the shooting at Brown University tonight two dead and eight injured from gunfire, I can't help but imagine a life where this would actually take me by surprise. This is truly become an everyday occurrence. So many die needlessly because we can't get our fucking shit together with guns.

This is the core issue, so well expressed. It's so unfathomably stupid, as well as being needlessly cruel. It makes no sense whatsoever & it pains me to believe people do believe it (& annoys me that women's rights are weaponised in this way too, but that's another idea for another day)
Speaking of falling for ideas, the notion that trans women are actually perverts trying to sneak into women's loos, and so hating trans is about protecting women, is possibly the single stupidest thing I have ever been asked to believe in the name of moral panic. I can't believe people believe it.
